BUMP... this is important, some1 answer!

SmarAleck, the interview is the best way for them to find out who's interested in the school. Not everyone has the money to visit the campus, so using campus visits as the measurement for interest would be actively unfair.
Thus, most colleges use interviews. It's also easy to come off as interested. Being well-informed is the first step in the process. I did my research before I interviewed and talked about Tufts's special features (the experimental college, the ties to graduate schools I'm interested in, the strengths of various programs, etc.): that definitely helped to stress my interest and allowed me to ask informed, relevant questions. Being generally enthusiastic is important, and all you have to do is talk about how much you love the shcool XD
I do know that all Tufts alumni send in reccomendations based on interviews, and I would be willing to bet that they are encouraged to talk about or rate each applicant's enthusiasm in and knowledge about the school.

I have a feeling I'm going to be rejected because I didn't have an interview :(

If you didn't have an interview because you weren't contacted by an alumni or because you couldn't reasonably make it, then it's porbably nothing to worry about...

Yeah, don't worry about not having an interview because I know in areas with tons of applicants, there were not enough interviewers. Half of the applicants at my school got interviews while the other half didn't. Also, in my case, the interview did nothing for me because my interviewer had only went to medical school there and didn't know anything about the undergrad programs and campus. It was very frustrating knowing more than my interviewer.

I was never contacted for an interview, but you know how they give you the local alumni director's name and you're supposed to contact them if your interviewer didn't call you in three weeks or something? I never called :(

And there's obviously not a dearth of alumni in nyc; plus my friends got interviewed. Do you think my not calling would be seen as lack of interest? I did visit and do a whole tour/info session thing in the summer though...

In the end, I don't think it would really matter that you didn't call. Then again, I'm not sure, but at least, you visited and took a tour. On a sidenote, I'm in southern Cali and it turns out more people applied than they could handle. So I thought maybe the same thing happened in nyc.

La la la, still waiting. When are these decisions gonna come out?

This Monday.. oh wait, don't get your hopes up... we were just kidding 'bout that one. Oh... don't worry, you only have AN ENTIRE WEEK TILL YOU REALLY FIND OUT... a little... ? distressing?

Nothing yet on the website. Still waiting...

I guess it really is April 1?

these schools...
they say april first...
and they actually do it april first...

I am ... surprised... and... anxious... and wishing they would have a bit more mercy...

Just so you all know, I just got off the phone with Allan Clemow, the director of admissions at Tufts, for reasons pertaining to my deferral (I got in last year and decided to defer for a year, yadayadayada). He said that they are sending all the letters out tomorrow, so the decisions are likely to be available online midday tomorrow. This is assuming the system works and all so it could be prolonged but odds are, tomorrow's the day. Good luck to all of you!

Thanks, Julia, for passing on the info.

Yeah, thanks, now at least we know!! :)

Thank you soooooo much!!!!

You think Tufts would want to put out their decisions earlier to get a jump on the Ivies... but noooooooooo, they want to wait until AFTER the Ivies release their decisions! Fools.

A few questions...

1) Does anyone have a theory as to what time tomorrow? If it's around lunchtime, I'll definitely beg a teacher to let me onto their computer...

2) Calidan, I remember you from the Georgetown board, right? I got deferred EA and then rejected... how about you?

3) Do all of the Ivies send out at the same time?

How is tomorrow AFTER the ivies? I thought the IVIES were April 1st, Friday. If they will be online tomorrow isn't that Wednesday, March 30?

Thanks soo much Julia! I fortunately have study hall tomorrow around noon so hopefully they will be posted around then! Calidan-- Tufts IS posting their decisions before the Ivies--- Ivy decisions come out on Thursday, Tufts decisions are tomorrow (supposedly).

WHAT? I'm pretty sure Tufts decisions will be out on Friday.... some1 from here called the admissions office and they said they were releasing on April 1.. .thats Friday
