Decision Notification for Fine Arts applicants

There has been much confusion and conflicting information regarding when decisions would be mailed out. I had been told by the admissions office a while ago that letters were going out March 21. As you can see, some letters have gone out and some have not (from CMU in general, not talking fine arts). Some have decisions online already for other areas of the college. Some are posting that their webpage says if a decision has been mailed. My daughter is an applicant to musical theater and there is nothing on her webpage about the mailing or decision.

I just called to inquire when her letter was or will be mailed and I was told that a decision has not been reached yet and that the prediction is that her letter would not be mailed until the END OF NEXT WEEK. I asked if that was a date given officially but he said, no, just a prediction. He said that this was the case for fine arts applicants (the ones who auditioned) as they are reviewing auditions and applications, so it was not just about my child's case but overall. I am posting this information for all of you guys waiting on this decision for fine arts (at least the theater kids anyway).

Hang tight.....don't bother checking the mailbox for this one for a while!

And good luck.....
Susan
PS, while this person predicted the end of next week, he added that decisions from there can go out as late as April 15!

Oh no! More waiting! I have definately had better spring breaks than this one. Doing lots of homework all day to catch up and get ahead, and waiting at home all day for college letters. Ah the wonder of checking the mailbox 20 times in a morning!
If they haven't made decisions yet, would it be wise to send a cd or something?

Hold tight. I am sure you will know soon. I don't think you need to send anything else in at this time.

my D was notified online yesterday of acceptance to music - vocal performance and HSS. They say letter mailed on 21st. Yet to see it.
