"Decision Notifications for Freshmen Applicants Are Hitting the Mail"

<p>News today from the Chapman Admissions office: </p>

<p>It’s an exciting and overwhelming time of year for a lot of students waiting to hear back about their admission decisions from universities and colleges worldwide. Here at Chapman, our counselors have been busy reading for the past six months, navigating their way through more than 10,000 applications from wonderful students around the globe. It is an exciting time for us as we think about the future of Chapman and the limitless potential of students who have applied this year.</p>

<p>We are wrapping up reading the rest of the applications we have received. For those of you who have applied for Regular Decision, admission decisions have started to go out in the mail. Please be patient with us as we are getting thousands of decisions out in the mail every day. When a decision has been made on your file, the decision status on your WebAdvisor account will most likely change to "Decision Mailed." This status can be deceiving as it does not actually mean that we have physically mailed it. The decision letter still has to print, be matched up with your file, stuffed to mail, and THEN mailed. PHEW! This whole process of the letter actually getting mailed can take up to a week before it hits the mail bags. Then, the letter will be on its merry way and, depending on where you live, will usually arrive within a week of it actually being mailed from our office.</p>

<p>Official admission decisions cannot be revealed over the phone by our office. Official decisions can only come through the mail, and are not valid if received by any source (including, coaches, academic departments, emails, etc.) other than our office.</p>

<p>We are very sympathetic with how stressful this process is for students who anxiously await hearing back from schools to which they have applied. So try to relax, because the culmination of the past four years of hard work will end up paying off as you start the next chapter of your life.</p>
