Are decisions mailed or does Miami now use a portal to release decisions?

My D has been extremely independent throughout this process and ultimately very private - very unlike her two older siblings. So.. basically, my only info comes from CC, ironic in a way since I found CC right before decisions for my older S and gained a ton of knowledge - of which she wanted none. And truth is... since putting my first in college in 2003, and the second in 2009 - there is less and less continuity of how colleges do it and I can't seem to find anything beyond a date on all the various websites.

Here’s what it says on my son’s online application portal:

“You will receive your admission decision notification on March 15, 2012. Decisions will also be posted online on this day at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time”

D applied via the common app… I am not sure she’d have an online application portal if she didnt apply via their portal, so I appreciate the info. Interesting though, if they say you “receive” decisions on the 15th, how can they know how long it takes for Mail to be delivered? I imagine if you live in Columbus you’d get mail a lot faster than say, California. In any event, we’ll hope for something on Thursday! Thanks again!

Thank you Sportsmom! D, in her usual independent way, must have called or worked with her guidance counselor to get the info she needed. I was told that decisions were mailed yesterday and would be up on the portal tomorrow perhaps? But at least she has portal info now!!

Decisions were posted 45 minutes earlier than the stated time of 12:00 a.m. EST. We’re in Colorado and found out son was accepted at 9:15 MT (11:15 EST). Yay!!!

Congrats Sportsmom & greggles! I guess I’ll be waiting until tomorrow to hear since D is fast asleep here! Sheesh… she probably saw 12:00 and thought NOON! ha!
