<p>My daughter received her RD acceptance today in the mail. We live in Atlanta, so it didn't take long</p>
<p>Did they send ur fin. aid package with the accpetance?</p>
<p>I live in the metro Atlanta area too, and I just got my acceptance package today. The financial aid wasn't in it. A learnLink CD was though, to download their software onto your PC. Most of the people I know that applied thought they weren't even going to be mailed until the first.</p>
<p>I got in too! OMG I am so excited but I did not get fin aid (that will determine whether I will go),</p>

<p>God I'm so nervous. Emory is my first choice and I would be heartbroken if rejected (yet insanely happy if admitted). It's weird because I'm always so optimistic but I'm scared about this college stuff. It feels like I'm playing Russian Roulette or something......like it's all up to fate (or luck, but I prefer fate =P). </p>
<p>I just got into Villanova, Richmond, and GW in the past few days, so I'm hoping those acceptances are a sign of good things to come. I also got rejected from Georgetown and William and Mary, but I kind of expected that. No one from my school gets into Georgetown and I don't live in Virginia for W&M. On the other hand, Emory feels like a toss up. </p>
<p>Guess I'll have to wait and see......</p>

<p>That sounds great bluehunnydew, I'm very jealous at the moment. I live just outside of Philly and everyone around here wants to go to Penn. It's the "it" school of the area. Just about everyone applies for it and very few get in.</p>
<p>I suppose Emory must be the "it" school of Atlanta. It seems a lot of people apply from there. Of course, with all of these national universities, they are most selective in accepting people from the surrounding area. </p>
<p>Give yourself a pat on the back, you deserve it. I would imagine getting in from Atlanta is harder than getting in from any other part of the world.</p>
<p>Cate, it seems likely that the letters will arive in Florida tomorrow! I'm really quite anxious to learn which of my classmates may be joining me there next year.</p>
<p>And neatd99, I was defidently the same way with my optimism. I'm basically known for always smiling! However, I was quite pessimisitic about my chances of getting in. I think that college acceptances are one time when that approach is actually the best; don't want to set yourself up for dissapointment. But gooood luck! You seem pretty similiar to me, so I'll be rooting for ya!</p>

<p>HAAA- tomorrow is prom! is it saife to open it before?? will that ruin my evening (depressed with a reject or overly excited about college while no one else cares and want to boote dance???)</p>
<p>eeeks...that's tough! I'd defidently open it because if not, I'd drive me self crazy wondering about it throughout Prom....just knowing it was riiight there, a life chaning message that you aren't revealing. Plus, you'll probabley be able to tell it's an acceptance just by picking it up.</p>
