Well, I think UCSD and UCSB release their admissions decisions in “batches” or “groups” starting in March going through April.

In past years, UCLA has generally released admissions decisions several days to a week before UC Berkeley, although there was one year where UCLA released them a couple days or so after Berkeley because they were behind on reviewing their applications for some reason.

Does anyone know if the certain campuses that say they are going to be releasing their acceptances in batches do freshman and then transfers? or is it a different process like by last name or something?

I’d love to hear back from a school or two next month
but I don’t want to get my hopes up if they give out transfer decisions last.

And does anyone happen to know if schools still send out an actual letter in the mail?
Because I really want a physical letter as opposed to just an email.

I’m 90% certain that if they release decisions in batches that they release them for freshman first, like in March or something. Could be wrong, though.

And I know that at least a few of the UCs send letters in the mail to admitted applicants. Usually they arrive several days after the decision is posted online.

Thanks @Cayton, it’s a bummer though
I was hoping to get some news early, but I’ll endure the wait.

Sweet. I know that I will look online to see the decision ASAP but I really like the idea of having a tangible letter to remember the occasion by :)

Haha, I guess they figure… we deserve to suffer longer because we’ve done college work already?

Honestly, I’d like to have a letter from all of them just because I think that they would be cool to keep. Not entirely sure why, though what I really want in the mail is a Hogwarts letter but I think I’m a tad too old for that now…

I hope they send out physical letters of acceptance as opposed to an email, but from what I’ve heard, nearly all the UC’s have switched to email notification.

Based on my experiences last year, all of the UC’s I applied to sent out physical acceptance letters. Just FYI, UCSD may arguably have the best acceptance letter packet haha.
