Mainly between Barnard and NYU
I already have a very "prestigous" internship in NYC (have no clue how I was selected) haha, which also makes me lean towards those two plus I love the city

I'm most likely majoring in econ/ poly sci, but have always had a hidden interest in neuroscience

I do want to be happy but at the "best" school academically as possible...

Yeah, I applied ED to Columbia, deferred then rejected today. I love the location and vibe of NYU but the classes and environment of Barnard/ Columbia.
Simply put, Columbia is my dream school and Barnard would be at least second best, so that is what I’m leaning towards.
I just don’t want the stigma of the Barnard girl who couldn’t get into Columbia (I mean, I am but whatever). I’m not ashamed of not cutting a less than 10% admissions rate, but from what I’ve heard, NYU takes alot of sub par students.

Barnard! my sister went to Barnard after getting deferred then rejected from Columbia too. she also got into NYU. she chose Barnard and has really loved it.

km-You’ve heard wrong. NYU does not take “sub par” students. That’s absurd. And I’m extremely familiar with both schools as a native New Yorker and having family members who have attended both schools. But with that attitude I don’t know why you’re asking this forum–you’ve already made up your mind.

What differences do you see with students at the two schools?
Who can tell me the main differences between attending Barnard College and Columbia College?

I decided against Wellesley today. It’s off the list. It sounds nice, but there’s no way I can go to a purely all girls school. Barnard is almost too all girls for me, but that’s what I’m leaning towards right now.
