Decision Time?

Since I just got waitlisted from WashU, I want some answers from my other schools.
Does anyone know/estimate when NU's decisions will come out?

March 25th is what i’ve been seeing on these boards…

ughh…that is soooo long :(

I think it will probably be sooner because Washington University in St. Louis sent their decisions out today.

How would the two be connected?

I am in the same boat as far as being wait listed at Wash U is concerned:(

I’m just hoping that NU’s waitlist will be shorter and that they won’t be so concerned with their yield rate likw Wash U was.

Well the reason why I compared WUSTL to NU was because they are often closely in comparsion so I thought that they would like do the same and release the decisions earlier.

ugh i’m in the same boat with the waitlist thing…gosh it seems like they waitlisted so many people! ugh. anyways i really hope NU comes out earlier than they say.

PS how do we know when to check…or do they just post it and expect for us to be continuously checking? i only knew to check for WUSTL because i saw people posting decisions on the thread here.

I learned about the Decision for WUSTL because people on CC said it was avaliable, so I went to check and it was!

I believe NU is going to email us with as letter that has a link with our decisions. Similar to what WUSTL did.

Northwestern >>>>>>>> WashU.

Me too, waitlisted at WUSTL.

lol wustl…sigh in order to improve their yield and selectivity they love to waitlist ppl…of course every college does it…but just looking at the posts on here, they definitely do it too much.

waitlisted at wash u…im so frustrated why are so many people waitlisted??? do you guys know the approximate number on the list?

gah! i am waitlisted as well! i don’t understand this whole “yield” thing though, will someone please explain this concept?

Apparently WashU’s yield (the number of acceptees who actually enroll) is quite low, so WashU is waitlisting “overqualified” students who probably applied to the Ivies and will get in and will thus not attend WashU if accepted. This supposedly is able to keep the yield higher but is failing miserably.
This is just a rumor of why WashU’s waitlisting so many qualified applicants, but I think FA is also in the mix. They’re just worried that not enough people’s going to enroll so they’re keep a large number of backups.

it seems to be a ridiculous amount of backups.

Man, waiting on Northwestern. I got waitlisted at WashU, but got my likely letter from Cornell today. How the heck does that happen. Now I know how much of a crapshoot admissions is… I wouldn’t consider myself overqualified for WashU, and I’d love to go there given the right FA package. I figured I’d have shown that with my visit, interview, applying for scholarship, etc.

Oh well. I reserved my waitlist spot.

^^^

I have a relative that works at Emory Admissions, and they’re scared s**tless of what will happen to yield this year- none of the FA guys’ projections have worked out. Yield will undoubtedly drop at WU this year, as well as waitlist acceptances, so it seems likely that WU will increase the size of their waitlist for economic reasons, besides the usual ones.

did anyone actally got in at washington university.!!!..it luks like everyone iz waitlisted!!!..me toooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
