<p>Hey, I'm a high school junior from south Florida that is starting to look at schools. UW is very intriguing to me because of the meteorology program and that it is an overall awesome place. Right now my stats are:
4.6 W and 3.78 UW
Number 7 out of 423
28 ACT
What would I look as a candidate and is it worth for me to go all the way up there compared to a free ride at Florida State or cheaper at other out of state schools.
I'd appreciate your oppinions.</p>

<p>jetsman415, your class rank is great from the admission perspective. As you have know, Madison has a highly ranked meteorology program. So, I strongly encourage you apply to see what UW-Madison may offer. </p>
<p>Get a contact of your local Wisconsin alumni club from the admission office. Talk to them about their experience! When/if you get admitted, ask the alumni club whether they offer a scholarship or travel stipend to visit Madison.</p>
<p>Good point--many alum clubs give direct scholies.</p>
