Decision: Yale, Stanford, or Princeton for Physics?

I've been admitted RD to Yale, Stanford and Princeton, and I'm more than a little at loss at which to choose (not too mention totally and absolutely stunned)

I want to major in physics, but I'm also passionate about theater, and I love Yale's residential college system.

For Physics Princeton is hard to beat. If you like Princeton, the school, the students, the environment, you should go for it.

Tough to beat the weather at Stanford.

Go to the school you feel most comfortable at. Clearly no bad choices here.

Stanford is hard to beat.

Are you planning on grad school?

Stanford and Princeton for physics, yes, but ask the Yale admissions office to put you in touch with some Yale physics undergrads and with some professors. Ask THEM what they’d suggest, given your choices and your interests. Ask them about research opportunities as an undergrad, and where graduates are going to grad school. That’ll help you evaluate your options.

Theater is a great interest/skill to have to complement a science career. You’re going to be making a lot of presentations over the years. (-:

They should all be good for pre-PhD preparation.

However, many physics majors decide to do something else. Something else is often finance (where Yale and Princeton would be favored) or computers (where Stanford would be favored).

Princeton. Seriously, go where you feel the most at home.
