Has anyone received an admission decision? I applied early action and am anxiously awaiting!

We are also anxiously awaiting!! I don’t think we’ll hear until next week at the earliest. Then again, I hope they prove me wrong!! :-S

D is waiting, not very patiently though lol. Where are you two from? We are from Massachusetts, a long 7 hour drive from Scranton.

We’re in central New Jersey. D is also waiting impatiently!! D is very nervous as admissions counselors said at the open house that they were accepting fewer applicants this year. What is your D’s intended major?

Forensic Chemistry/Criminology. Scranton is only one of a handful of schools in the NE that offers forensics. D’s first choice is not in a city but if the price is right, Scranton is at the top of the list. The waiting is making us very anxious. D took the SATs again on Saturday in hopes of getting the extra 50 points she needs for the full tuition scholarship/Presidential. They did say that those were not awarded until after admissions so hopefully they’ll take the new scores (if they are better!). Good luck to everyone and make sure to come back on here and let us know the outcomes.

Any Decisions yet?

Not for us. They were mailed out on Friday, so we’re hoping to know on Monday!

D Got the letter in the mail today … Accepted Nursinf with generous Dean Scholarship … Good luck everyone …we still have a few more out there

*nursing … iPhone

Mail comes in 30 minutes but D doesn’t get home until at least 4…

Son just received an e-mail (our mail doesn’t get here til late in the day). He was accepted with $23,000/year. At first I was thrilled for him until I remembered the cost of attendance. I was hoping perhaps he had a shot at the Presidential Scholarship. With Dean’s Scholarship, our cost of attendance is looking to be over $30,000/yr. Since we are in Maryland, IF he gets into UMD, with no scholarships even, it would still be cheaper than Scranton. Looking like we might have to scratch this one.

I know we are in the same boat… Looks impressive on the letter and then when you do the math it’s still $$$ up there … Can’t be a Resident Advisor until at least Sophmore year …

Admissions told me that decisions for the full tuition scholarship are not made until February when I called about our non-rank status last month. We haven’t got the mail yet so not sure where D stands…she gets home in just a few minutes. Maybe someone could call admissions and verify that information?

D was accepted also with a Deans Scholarship. We’ll await decision on their honors program and the presidential full tuition to make it feasible. I really hope so because, although a safety, it is one of the few schools that offers the major she wants.

@NEPatsGirl, Congratulations to your daughter! We are a bit more fortunate because our son wants a common major - economics/finance.

@Collegemoneyman, thanks for the reminder about being an RA. That’s always a viable option, although we can’t count on the position ahead of time. It is a great opportunity though and certainly can help reduce the expense.

no email and nothing in the mail! Anyone else not hear yet?

Accepted!! All of you will receive decisions within a few days! :)

Congratulations smccallion Do I remember from a previous post that you are a GS with gold award? D is completing her project right now and hopes to get the award early Spring.

Daughter accepted into their 5 year Occupational Therapy Program! She’s thrilled. Acceptance includes Loyola scholarship, but IMO not enough. We’ll wait to see what the other schools offer. Unsure why she wasn’t given the Dean’s Scholarship as her SAT > 1300???

Not sure why she didn’t get the Dean’s scholarship. I’m personally waiting for SAT scores for D on Tuesday to call about the Presidential which I remember them telling me won’t be awarded until springtime. If I were you, I would call. Is it because the OT program is so competitive? That is fantastic that your daughter was accepted, from everything I’m reading about the different programs it is difficult to get in to. Congrats!!
