Decision

Geez, you guys got me sooo anxious when I first saw the title of this thread and that it is two pages in length. I thought that the decisions had been posted online and that I just hadn't known about it.

Hahaha, sorry about that, Tashi. We were going pretty crazy too when we thought the site was down in preparation to release decisions.

A little longer to wait, I guess.

Gee, if only we could hack into the site and find out our decisions now...

bad idea..kids are getting rejected for doing that with the business schools. whole controversial thing..lol

yeah i just read something about that on the brown board.

If you hack in, take the whole database, and delete the logs they will never know it was you.

Just a thought.

lol wow. i didn't think we had become so desperate that we're scheeming up plots to find out our decisions early... ahaha, i don't blame yah tho. ;) but only a few more days. by at least the 27th... i'm hoping.

what makes every1 so sure that we'll hear back by March 27? Also, I was recently waitlisted by WashU, much to my surprise.... 1440/780/760/710.. Do you think this means I might be waitlisted by Tufts as well... People on the WashU board were relating that to the "Tufts Syndrome" I visited campus and had an alumni interview if that makes any difference... I'm just scared of being WL by Tufts as well (since WashU wasn't expected, although I predicted it.. I heard they WL 10,000+ applicants this year... not sure how true that statistic is though)

smartaleck: just for your info, my counselor told me that Wash U waitlists a lot of people to make their numbers look better.

27th is a sunday... so we def won't find out exactly on that date.. i think we'd better start hoping for the 28th.

which is ::aghast:: over a week away

oh my gosh.

Last year, the people on this board nicknamed a disease 'WUSTL-WL,' as in Wash. U wait-list. Basically, they waitlist a ridiculous number of people to make their numbers look better.

Tufts, for the record, has about 16,000 people applying this year. 2,000 applied ED I and about 500 were accepted, so there are about 650 slots left.

Those numbers are really scaring me.

tufts syndrome

No1 answered my question... I went on a campus tour and had an alumni interview.. is this enough 'demonstrated interest' so as NOT be waitlisted... I'm just scared of being waitlisted at Tufts b/c I was waitlisted at WashU... and according to my guidanc counselor, Tufts should be a target school for me... i dunt anticipate it being a reach, being WL by WashU really made me think some things over... nothing can be taken for granted... u can't assume anything when it comes to college decisions... anyways, any1 know how Tufts compares to WashU in terms of its 'overuse' of the waitlist?

From what I know, Tufts uses the waitlist far less than Wash U. Don't worry yourselves too much over the Wash U business and its being an indicator of your potential admission to Tufts--it's not. This year, in particular, (though they did this in previous years too, it was not to this extent) Wash U waitlisted a ridiculous number of people. This is true to the degree that the GC of my old school (college-prep, tiny, private, 100% go to college, about a quarter go to ivies or stanford) is actually worried for Wash U b/c they may end up not getting enough people to fill a class. IMO, and this is based on pure speculation, but my best guess is that they must have had a bigger yield last year than they had anticipated so they're cutting back on this year's incoming class. Just a thought. But Tufts doesn't WL nearly as much from what I know so don't compare the two too much in that regard. And stay confident! You'll hear soon enough and I know it's hard but try to stay positive about it :)

thanks very much, that post definitely reassured me:)

oh, i'm not totally for sure, but i know last year decisions were released around the 27th of March, so thats why i'm hoping this year will be the same.

It better be, I dont wanna wait til the 31st and hear back from like 4-5 other schools on the same day! lol
