Is there anybody else who is still deciding between schools and is using the admit weekend to be a final indicator???
Im deciding between yale and stanford and i absolutely love yale but I have never seen stanford and this is the only way i will make a fair decision. Who else will be making a last minute decision this week???

I'm deciding between Columbia and Stanford. It's driving me insane!!!! I'm going to be up all night thinking about it.

yeah same here. these decisions seem to tear you apart in a way. you have to choose one and reject another amazing school. it kinda hurts

Yeah- I'll be deciding this weekend after Stanford admit weekend between Princeton and Stanford (I've already kinda eliminated Harvard and Yale... but I can't seem to totally eliminate them)

yep, i'll be at admit weekend too. just got back from visiting princeton, and will use AW to see how stanford stacks up. last minute decisions, indeed....

stanmaster, EXACT same situation here. i LOVED yale, my heart is completely set on it, and i safely eliminated all my other choices except for stanford, which i still have to visit. but i don't think i will. in the end, i want myself to go to yale, and if i go to stanford and love it even a little bit, it'll make me less enthusiastic for yale in the long run. i want to go to yale feeling as enthusiastic for it as possible. i don't know if that makes sense at all, but i don't want to let myself be swayed the day before i have to send my reply cards in.

Some kids in my class already regret sending in their reply cards early because of all the "what if..."s.

yeah ThisIsCrazy. something is telling me definently not to go visit. Yale just seems so perfect to me right now and i dont want to ruin that

A really good friend of mine is going to make his decision when he visits Stanford's weekend for admitted students. He's choosing between Stanford, Columbia, and Princeton.

moi!! yale stanford and mit.....i loved bulldog day and cpw but don't know anything about stanford, and i can't go to their admit weekend! I feel like I won't be able to make a good decision without seeing stanford

To ThisIsCrazy and Stanmaster:

Making the college decision isn't a zero-sum game. Liking Stanford more will not dampen your enthusiasm for Yale--just like for me, liking Princeton didn't make me any more uncertain about Stanford. If you like Yale, go for it. But it's good to check out Stanford anyway, for no other reason than for you to feel that you went into Yale with your eyes open, with no regrets, having at least visited the other colleges.

make sense?

Yeah that does make sense. I definently will be going to the admit weekend. no regrets

nice :D would love to see you there...

gah today marks the day I decided on Stanford. Good bye MIT, Columbia, and all the rest that's not even worth mentioning.

My god this is too difficult for me. Princeton or Stanford. Im going for engineering and everybody has told me stanford is better, but there something about Princeton.... Man, this is to tough. To say yes to Stanford is to say no to 10 colleges for me

holy crap you're pwnage.

"My god this is too difficult for me. Princeton or Stanford. Im going for engineering and everybody has told me stanford is better, but there something about Princeton.... Man, this is to tough. To say yes to Stanford is to say no to 10 colleges for me."

I'm in the exact same situation.

starts sobbing

I'm all set. Stanford, here I come!

I couldn't make my mind up initially between UChicago and Stanford, but the lure of gorgeous weather was too tempting for me, being the sunny weather hog that I am.

Hey! Someone from Kuwait. Nice. I'm from Bahrain.

I just declined Stanford's offer, dropped the card in the mail and everything. Accepted Princeton's. If I'm lucky, I'll pursue graduate education at Stanford.

It was a very difficult decision to make but, oh well, I had to make a choice anywho.

y'know... on the undergraduate level, it's all just about the same, once you start talking about top-tier universities. and besides, i've always been told that your undergraduate education is when you do what you want to do, go to a school you like, and take classes your interested in regardless of whether they'll ever be useful. leave the serious stuff for grad school.

so given your statement that "there's something about Princeton" that sets it apart from stanford or such, i think you made the right choice.

enjoy it!
