<p>If I'm applying to math and science schools, including top schools Caltech and MIT, and I am risking getting a B in a math course: vector calculus, do you think having a W on the transcript for withdraw would be a better decision than getting a B? In other words, will the top schools look down more on a B or on a W? Thanks for the input.</p>
<p>IMO, I think they'd rather see a b being that it is a hard course, clearly, and they want to see that you tried rather than quit.</p>
