has anyone in south florida heard anything for BFA MT or Acting?

Once you are in My Slice, how do you know if you got in? Cannot tell, so maybe you have something in your My Slice others do not have, since you are admitted.

S received an email that said this:

The Admissions Committee has reached a decision on your application to Syracuse University. The link below will take you to an electronic copy of the notification letter you will receive by mail.

There was then a link with information and a full financial aid offer.
Hope that helps. Please feel free to PM me with any more specific questions. :)

I don't think that I have a certain code to activate my account, I feel like if I haven't gotten a letter yet I might have no gotten in, I don't know, any thoughts?

yeah....when u applied u should have gotten a letter in the mail that told u about Acess Orange at the bottom of it with ur AccessOrange number, which is also ur SUID. so go onto the syracuse home page and type in "myslice" in the search engine. it should redirect to u a page, and click on "activate my netID" or something of that sort. then it will have u type in ur SUID/acessorange number and u can set up ur account and tada. im just doing that now...hope that helps.

Thank you!

I activated my slice and could find nothing once in. Note the one who heard said her s got an email first. Not many have heard from Syracuse to date, it appears. Also, does anyone know if this is MT acceptance on line, or academic acceptance only? I feel like some kids think they got into some schools for MT when they really only got in so far for academics - Elon comes to mind.

Unless something has changed, Syracuse sends out a single admissions decision and does not bifurcate the academic and artistic process. The theatre department sends its recommendations to admissions and admissions sends out the letters. PDF versions of the letters are emailed to applicants with hard copies to follow.

To answer your question, my son's acceptance letter stated acceptance to the MT BFA program and then had links to his financial aid package. Some of my son's friends who auditioned on the same day have not received any word of any kind and their applications and auditions were done at the same time. Hope that helps :)

Also, when my son was accepted to Elon, his academic acceptance came through weeks ago. He received a personal phone call for the MT acceptance.

Mom4X, my son's SU acceptance came via email on Friday afternoon with a link to an online admissions letter. The letter clearly states acceptance to the College of Visual and Performing Arts, Department of Drama, Musical Theater program. We didn't check MySlice just then, but I can tell you that by evening, everything had been updated online, including the proposed financial aid package.

Not sure how many kids have been notified yet. There is not a huge Facebook presence if that means anything. Good luck!!

congrats to u guys!
but anyone from florida?

To my knowledge it does not matter where you live. The acceptances all went out at the same time. I am sure that they have a waitlist that they will work as soon as people respond. As I said in another post, it is almost impossible to commit to a program when you have multiple offers until you have seen the financial aid package. Even though Syracuse gives their fa package with the acceptance, the other schools don't do theirs until much later. I know that it is frustrating, but it is an unfortunate part of the process.

there is another discussion on the general Syracuse thread and someone reported that they talked to admissions today and the next 'batch' of acceptances won't go out until Friday. So, if this is correct, an email should appear around 5pm ET Fri.

zen thank u soooo much!!!!

accepted into Syracuse Acting

Is that for general academic admissions or specifically for MT? My understanding was that the academic decisions go out in a couple of waves but the MT decisions are out. Is that not the case?

In very recent years, MT decisions went out in waves. I can't speak for this year.

In the past, academic and artistic admissions were communicated in a single letter. Consolidated process.

My daughter received an e mail first and then the information packet by mail a few days later. The original e mail contained a link to a letter from admissions saying that she had been admitted to the College of Visual and Performing Arts. This was the only admission she received from the school. She did not receive academic admission first like some schools (Point Park etc.).

As Michael wrote above, Syracuse is all or nothing....it is one joint acceptance into Syracuse. The academic acceptance is not separate from the BFA program acceptance.
