[] Essays: Pretty damn good. I wrote about the teacher who has most influenced me, not only because of what he teaches, but because of the kind of person he is. He formed the Breaking The Chain organization / club at my high school. Through Breaking The Chain, in the past 6 years, he has helped raise over $30,000 to help free child slaves & child labourers in Ghana. This year, we turned our sights to not only freeing these fishing children, but building them a school as well. The people who proofed my essay (my AP 11 English teacher, a tough old lady<3, and my Honors 10 English teacher, amazing guy, army brat) cried.
[] Teacher Recommendation: Outstanding. Both teachers absolutely adore me (AP 11 English and AP Euro / Political (the man I wrote my college essay about))
[] Counselor Rec: Amazing. My counselor is actually a very good friend of mine at this point.
[] Additional Rec?: My boss wrote me a letter of recommendation. She’s a Georgetown graduate, I’ve worked for her for 4 years.
[] Interview?: No =/

[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Essays, SAT scores, recommendations
[] Weaknesses: GPA, for sure. Being a white female, needed Financial Aid.
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: It definitely comes down to my GPA. It really just wasn’t good enough for F&M, which is a shame, because I really liked their school, a lot. I also need financial aid, which is definitely the #1 reason I was wait listed.
[/ul]General Comments: I guess I’m pretty sad over it. It was one of my two top choice colleges. If I had gotten into F&M, I would be having a lot of trouble deciding between that and George Washington University (where I was accepted). I wish I’d gotten a chance to visit and sit in on a class, because I really did like the look of the campus and the feel. But my GPA killed me. I’m considering appealing the wait list, but I doubt it’ll do any good.

Unfortunately, I was waitlisted at F&M, but since everyone here seems to have been accepted, maybe you might be able to give me some advice?
