Decisions 2011

D just got accepted via big white envelope. Long Island New York

@sammy122
I’m so sorry to hear that because so far I got on 3 waiting lists and 3 rejections…
although I got acceptances at college of charleston, university of san diego (not university of ca at sandiego), and depaul university…the cheapest of them is about 32,000 a year (college of charleston)…u of sandiego gave me 10,000 a year which still require about 42000/year and depaul offered me 8000/year…
i’m still hoping to get accepted to on of the liberal arts colleges since I applied high FA to all of them…

I got my wait-listed letter in Maine today! Definitely surprised I even got wait-listed, definitely staying on :)

i feel ya sammy…im international too

i got rejected from every need-aware/sensitive school so far

but i did get into all need blind schools…howevr, little to no aid…

■■■…cornell is my last hope

@ginnylee
did you receive any notification email before/after you had the mail?

ugh i’ve been wait listed at four schools in the past 3 days…
middlebury, kenyon, bates, AND skidmore! AHHH so frustrating.

Leeloo, we really do have a lot in common aside from both being passed along by Middlebury TWICE. I’ve also been waitlisted at 4 colleges since Friday. Colby, Middlebury, Bates, and Bowdoin. Midd is the only one I really care much about, though.

@zhiyioakdal: yes I do. The mail came at around 1 pm today and the email came later, at about 7pm lol

wait listed. i can’t say i really expected to be admitted, but it still stings a little. now i’m just waiting on a few finanical aid decisions so i can finally make a decision and be DONE with all of this. can’t wait!

Accepted! :slight_smile: It was a nice big envelope in my mailbox.

Accepted from Chicago :D

My son got rejected. Received it by email. International asking for big financial aid. 2290, perfect gpa.

Did anyone receive rejection letters by mail today? My friend who lives in the same town as me (Northern NJ) got wait listed today, but I didn’t get anything in the mail. It doesn’t seem like a good sign.

Accepted in California with very generous financial aid!!!

Accepted. Drop dead gorgeous financial aid!

leeloo 231, I am waitlisted at 8 schools in the past 3 days =)
so I totally feel u. This stuff seems to have no ends with me…

Accepted from Vancouver, Canada!

My son was accepted, also. Ditto on the FA. We are stunned. Go Bates!

ginny and dedede–wow! this wait list craziness is seriously draining. but honestly, i’ve just been telling myself—and i’m telling you guys now—that even getting on the waitlist is a tremendous accomplishment. they turned away so many people, but admissions saw something in us (at middlebury, at bates, wherever) that they wanted. and at a certain point, i honestly believe that when they can’t decide, they close their eyes and grab an application, and bam! those people are in. i just listened to a piece on NPR about amherst admissions that said exactly that.
not to say those accepted didn’t deserve it, because they totally did. but us wait listers were qualified enough to get in! ARGH it’s all so frustrating and sad.
but good luck to everyone!!!

leeloo, thank you for the encouraging post. Yes I do hope we are somewhat qualified :). The thing is that, among all the schools that waitlist me, one I was so sure I would get into, and one I love so much I cannot imagine going to somewhere else :((
anyway, the closing eyes grabbing an application part is really cruel. Is that how our happiness/future/fate is decided :(

Gluck to u too :). Tell us when u get any good news :slight_smile:
[ I have just received some more waitlists :frowning: ]
