I got no grants (is this a sign from other schools that I applied to that I won’t get any need-based grants?). However, got 23k leadership scholarship and 5.5k in loans (yuck). However, as of now, RPI has given me the most money.

my son was waitlisted

Where did you see scholarship award information…was it on same screen as acceptance and music playing?

My Daughter was accepted! 13,300 scholarship and 9,600 grant!
Congrats to those accepted…

Thanks CPUscientist. I’m only a junior (not even going to graduate before leaving high school due to a couple of dumb requirements like gym) so that makes perfect sense. Do you how often they turn people down later, though?

what were you s and test scores?

sorry mean’t grades and test scores

that’s cool that you applied as a junior! i wish i would have known about that=/

it depends on how well you perform…do you know into what term you would be accepted into if you met the requirements (fall 2011, fall 2012?)

My Aid PER YEAR:
Leadership Award- $12600
Grant- $12200
Perkins Loan- $1900
Sub. Loan- $3500
Unsub. Loan- $2000
Work-Study- $2000

I have no idea if I should be happy or sad. They said my expected family cost is $23036. Anyone with similar results?

SAT 2370, #1 (so far) in class of about 130, 103 GPA. I actually talked to the head of admissions who said that rpi didn’t admit people without a diploma, but I explicitly said in my app that I wouldn’t graduate this year…yet they admitted me for fall of 2011…weird.

lucky!
and you should get that checked out…

i’m 6/269 and my SAT score isn’t close to yours lol but i will retake in sept. GPA 3.97

again congrats to all of the acceptees–Vloria, hope everything works out!

Yeah I got a similar aid package. No grants though.

guys, where do i check ?

I don’t want it checked out I want to get out of high school and into rpi! lol.

Ok I am glad I am not alone. I have to find out how I could get $23000 by this fall because I have a feeling that my package is going to be pretty similar at each private school I applied to.

kiln–i agree

vloria–not necessarily true :)

What was your EFC Vloria (if I may ask of course)? My EFC was 22k (and to think about it now, I have to pay roughly 26K a year).

I got conditionally accepted. :\ I guess acceptance is acceptance so I should be happy and I know I’m doing better this semester than last semester, but it still feels strange that Rensselaer could send a rejection after already sending an “acceptance”.

Financial aid per SEMESTER:
Rensselaer Leadership Award: $12,450
Federal Direct Subsidized Loan: $1,750
Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan: $1,000
Federal College Work-Study: $1,000
Total YEARLY cost: $24,836

That’s almost 1/4 of my parents’ income so I highly doubt my parents will want me attending a school they can barely pronounce all the way in NY when I’m in CA. I was really hoping I could recieve more aid. :\ So many mixed emotions about this acceptance. Congrats to all that have been accepted!!

@CPUscientist3000 I hope so!
@speechlessdogs My EFC is $23190 which is higher than what they say I have left to pay which is pretty good.

The Waitlist form has two choices that you have to pick from when accepting the waitlist offer : Fall 2010 or Spring 2011 ??? How can this be ? Should I pick Fall 2010 since it is the Fall 2011 semester I want to enroll or will this mess up my waitlist spot… Should I wait until Monday to contact Admissions before accepting or is it best to accept waitlist spot asap…???
