Decisions and Interviews

I just had my interview yesterday. When I was leaving he told me that he would call me when he found out if I had been admitted or not. Apparently, my interviewer was under the impression that he would find out before I would. Do you think this is true? I wasn’t aware that decisions were made available to the interviewers first…

hmmmmmmmmmmmm.........If he did, it would probably be inappropriate for him to tell you

But I can't imagine that they would give him that information until after you got the decision....

my interviewer said something similar ---except he said something about checking back with me to see if i got in........maybe you misheard him

Did he specifically say that he "was under the impression that he would find out before" you would? Because it might be that he meant he would call you when he found out, to either congratulate you or offer his appologies, but he wouldn't find out until you would. I don't think interviewers find out before you do, but if they did... there's no way they would tell you your decision ahead of time.

I believe the local alumni club gets to know who got into Brown a bit earlier before the official notification date, so as to allow them to prepare for a admitted students reception. I'm pretty sure this is the case for international students.

The only way he'd find out before you is if your letter was lost in the mail and his was not. Anyway, aren't you guys all finding out on line?

The interviewers eventually get notified, but it is NOT intended to be earlier.

My interviewer told me that he would be notified if I'm accepted at the same time at the end of my interview.
