<p>I’m browsing through this thread trying to figure out how MICHIGAN is processing their acceptances (and rejections). My kid had their stuff in Oct 16 or 17…heard 1 week ago (accepted) and invited to apply to Honors yesterday.<br>
Is MICHIGAN only offering acceptances to their “high admit” pool now and holding everyone else back to compare against the big pile of applications that came in Oct 31?? Has anyone been outright rejected yet? I think the application numbers are WAY up, due to the economy (parents are saying no to the option of $50k private tuition right now). Competition is especially tough this year. I suspect a lot of kids will be waitlisted.</p>

<p>and to michiganmom: when you have time, stroll through last year’s threads for UMich between 10/15 and 12/21…there is no “admissions logic”, but your assessment sounds about right…easy admits in, all others deferred, no-one rejected…last year, according to Alexandre, I think they filled about 70% of the class with ER early admits…</p>

<p>I read somewhere that applications have to be “received” by Nov. 15 for merit scholarships, but I couldn’t find anything like that again. Does anyone know why the date Nov. 15 is important?</p>
