good luck to everyone else!

I got in!!! :)

Congrats!

Thanks for letting us know Claire--it saved us some agonized waiting! My d checked and she got in too. She is thrilled!

Congrats to those who have already heard and good luck to those still waiting.

congratulations!!

It saved me some agony too. I logged in just to make sure I could log in smoothly and I saw that it said decision letter.

claire, the same thing happened to me! i just got in. so it'll be between smith, unc chapel hill, and HOPEFULLY macalester for me. good luck to the rest of you!

waitlisted. awesome. why am I not surprised?

Accepted! I'm really excited. Smith has been growing on me more and more of late.

:( Sorry Bustles. Best of luck.

My daughter got in, too. Now we're waiting for Bryn Mawr/Wesleyan/Barnard/Vassar - a common combination, I think. Still, if none of those comes thru it doesn't matter because Smith has been a top choice off and on.

Honestly, it's such a great school with a great vibe. Beautiful dorms. Friendly atmosphere and an intense learning experience. Congrats, everyone!

And, Bustles, have faith. It's not over until it's over.

accepted! :) now i wanna know about finaid!

Me too it's going to be a huge determining factor. Do you know where Smith generally leans in terms of aid? (Like, more work study/loans/merit?)

ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I know I got a Pell Grant, so I think my FA will be decent! (My family has an income of under $40,000, so....it's definitely a factor.)

Still, I'm incredibly psyched!!!!

Waitlisted. I wonder when I'll get a firmer answer?

Congratulations, everybody!!! How many of you think that you will actually attend? I really want to, but now I have the anxious wait for financial aid...please please be enough!

ACCEPTED! WHEEE!

I did the same as some, just logged in on the off chance that they posted early but weren't telling. Sneaky Smith! Love you to death. Sadly, though, my decision is based almost entirely on FA and I don't think I was awarded STRIDE or anything. How can I know?

Bustles - Ugh, sorry. Good luck, though!

Anyway, Congrats All! How will I sleep with this huge smile plastered all over my face?

My attendance is based primarily on financial aid, as well as where else I'm accepted. But going is a very real possibility! =D

To those waitlisted: have faith! I am proof that students can be accepted off of the waitlist. I suggest writing a letter to Smith, sending an extra recommendation, sending a writing sample that you're proud of, etc. Let them know that you're interested and, if admitted, will attend.

squaregirl - We seem to hit a lot of parallel schools, LOL - or did you just apply to practically every good school ever? That's kinda what I did, though, so it wouldn't make much of a difference... Maybe we'll meet each other next year while begging in the FA office for more aid...

I'm IN!!!!!! Congrats everyone and best of luck!

@simply lily - LOL! I basically applied based 100% on aid, and the best places to get aid are Ivies and the Seven Sisters. I had a fee waiver, so I also applied to Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Hampshire, Georgetown, Acadia and Dalhousie in addition to the others. So, LOTS OF SCHOOLS. But since application fees weren't an issue and maximizing the chances of good aid were, I took my chances. =P

squaregirl - HEE! I had the same thing in mind - aid, aid, aid - when filling out the applications. Of course, I also prefer a women's college but aid is first. Unfortunately, my fee wasn't waived and it took a month's wages, I think, to apply to about a hundred thousand schools, LOL. Unfortunately, the Ivies are out of my league...
