How does everyone feel? What are your thoughts about the big day?

Ugh I just want today to go by so fast! I just want to know already lol

Ready to know and just tired of waiting. I had a dream that I received my letter of acceptance from Georgetown…though it was quite weird after that.

Right! I have to hear from Yale, Princeton and UPenn. Each of them have a 10% acceptance rate, so rejections from all three is the most likely and getting accepted into all three is a really long shot. Haha.

Trying to remain optimistic…not working lol

genuinely i don’t really care. I just want it to be over.

Think about your “first love.” You probably had an idealized notion that there was only one right person in the world for you and you felt so lucky that that person’s path had intersected with yours. Then when that ended, you decided that that person probably wasn’t the “only one.” And after a couple more experiences at love, you come to realize that there’s no single “right one” - there could be many, and it’s a matter of being flexible enough to appreciate them all despite their differences.

College is the same way. Right now, there may seem like one “dream college.” Nothing else would match up. Some of you will get into that dream, some of you won’t. But a year from now, the vast majority of this year’s class will love where they are, and will scarcely be able to believe that they ever considered going elsewhere. There will be some celebrations in the next day or two and some disappointments. Roll with the emotions, but don’t get too far up or too far down. You’re incredibly talented and if you’re on CC, you take this seriously enough to get all that you can from the experience. The year ahead is going to be a great one - regardless. Good luck!

The “first love” notion was very interesting, and I’ve heard similar stories from adults who tell me about the college process. My backup is the University of Delaware, which is a great school - since I’ve already gotten accepted, all I have to do is submit the deposit and I’ve got a place for me to spend the next four years of my life.

However, if I do get accepted into any of my schools I’m waiting for tonight, that’d be wonderful. I just hope for the best but expect the worst.

^^As an opposing view, I would contend that if you do not receive positive news from your “dream school” (isn’t it dreamy??), that your life is clearly over… in which case I would suggest beginning your search now for the cardboard box (the good ones go fast) that is certain to become your home.

Haha if you say so.

@James I love your analogy, it kinda made me feel indifferent towards my college decisions now.
