General Comments, status update dates: I got rejected from all the private schools that I applied to but then again they were all reaches (Ivies) except for USC, which was supposed to be my match (even high match, nearing reach). I got accepted into UC San Diego, UCLA, and UC Berkeley. I am leaning towards UCLA right now but Cal might give me scholarships and seem to be really, really interested in me (calling me, inviting me to apply to Cal scholarships, etc.) I got deferred in EA and rejected in RD.

accepted...colleges are indeed random at times, totally unexpected

rejected..

So, I've been in complete awe for last 2-3 hours. Accepted! Weird series of events. I checked Brown..saw that I was rejected and was depressed for 2 seconds, until I checked Yale and was overjoyed ;) I really have no idea how I got in, but I'm incredibly grateful and fortunate.

Really guys, the acceptance game is so incredibly random. 8.3% is an insane statistic. Keep your heads up! Brown was my first choice, and it didn't work out, but that's how life goes sometimes (I know, I must sound incredibly insane seeing as I was admitted into Yale, but believe me when i say that I adore Brown) As cheesy as Brown's rejection letter was, they're completely right: "It's not where you go, it's what you do with the opportunities"

Love Yale bunches, and totally looking forward to it after my gap year (A break finally from 13 years of schooling, yes!)

Decision: Rejected (and overjoyed! lol my decisions are now much more easier)
