decisions coming out today

Awwwh, everyone that’s gotten in is so lucky. XD

someone from my school got in yesterday and she has lower stats than i do. im getting really worried now!! =/

I’d freak out if someone that lived closeby got in because I’d be scared I was getting rejected. DX

^ yeah thats what im afraid of
i dont see why they she would get in before me though
just doesnt make sense

blahh90:Is it possible that she is applying to a different school/ major at USC? Her essays may have been very strong? Or her application was looked at first…I recall that you live in NJ; I guess that means one of the acceptances did make it here after all…

FYI, last year, a student in our high school barely in top 20% was accepted, barely 1300 SAT’s because the major she applied into was extremely unpopular…

Curious to know when your friend’s status changed and if she sent midyear grades…

Extremely unpopular major? Does that help? What kind of majors are those?

Nickel: I think that this particular person had auditioned for musical theatre but was accepted under her 2nd choice: BA in theatre (non-performance major I think)…Most MT kids would have chosen another school; she really loved USC and decided to attend…

maybe, she applied to the regular school while i applied to marshall
neither of us are urms (both asian)
but it could be the major thing. i just hope they havent sent out all the acceptances for our school yet

Ah. I see. I don’t know how popular my major is. I picked Classics. I doubt it’d help.

what if you apply as undeclared, does that help?
how about first generation?

an9890- I’m guessing you have a better shot as a first generation student in comparison to someone who isn’t. And since you haven’t declared a major, I’m sure it’ll be easier for you than say for someone who applied to the Cinematic Arts.

I’m a first generation Latina. Meh. I don’t really think that helps either. =/

Keep in mind that being a first generation student does help, but it definitely isn’t everything.

It’s a tip but not a hook.

My friend got in and he/she lives closeby to me[2 minute walk], is this a bad sign? Or do they not have any pattern of admissions?

I am international by the way.

It just means that you weren’t in that wave.

But the next wave is soon?

I just looked on last year’s thread and it looks like the next wave should be soon… people were posting acceptances daily from the beginning of March to the 12th. Then there was a break until the 17th of March, which is when I think another March wave started. I feel really lame for analyzing all of this! :)

During spring break is the next wave?

Wish I could say for sure… they may or may not send out waves at the same times as last year..
