Rejoice.
Blog post isn't up yet but I expect it to be soon.

9:26 ET? Isn't it supposed to be 1:59? (It's as if they missed the 15 in 3.1415926 - or, what's more likely, they needed more time than 1:59PM.)

Also, I don't see the 'make sure you've got some privacy when you first view your decision' and the other points that were displayed for EA applicants back in December. Perhaps the page will be updated a few days before decisions with those, I suppose.

Edit: I have to mention this. Props (so, so, so much props) to the admissions officers for managing to get decisions out on Pi Day when they have more applications than ever to go through!

^Or skip school. It’s going to be in the middle of the night for me on the 15th… Probably not going on that day. I’m just gonna stay up all night. If I still have any energy in the morning (or if I get accepted, in which case I’ll have all the energy in the world coursing through my veins) I’ll go.

“You have successfully confirmed your ability to view your decision online, which will be available beginning at 9:26PM Eastern Time on Monday, March 14.”

got this after logging in to decisions.mit.edu

Maybe they decided that having 11,000 or so students trying to log in when they should be in class was not a good idea. As a parent, I personally like the idea of our son logging in from home in the evening, rather than from school when we can’t be with him to congratulate or console.

^I don’t think that was it… It’s been at 1:59 for 2 years after all. Why not do the same then?

I’m personally not going to tell anyone about the date. Literally. I’ll reveal what I want when I feel up to it, because if it’s a rejection, I’m going to want to get over it before telling anyone.

honestly - probably not. with the substantial uptick in applications we’ve had to put more time here. rest assured that when/if as they are assembled i will post.

I like the inclusion of our class year with the 15 but haha, what are they gonna do next year when Pi Day is on a weekday and it’ll be the class of 2016? It’s harder to get away with the 9:26 thing then.
