Decisions Date?

When will Berkeley send out its decisions? I want to know how much longer I'll be waiting.

well, you’ll be waiting until the end of March, I believe.

march 30/march 31 would be safe bets.

This information is easily found.

http://students.berkeley.edu/admissions/fallapp.asp

March 27th. If you are nominated for certain scholarships (i.e. Regents), you’ll be called in for an interview in early February, and this means you’ve been accepted. (This doesn’t apply to internationals.)

Does that apply to transfer students as well, kyledavid?

@kyledavid80: Do you automatically get nominated for Regents, or do you have to fill out a form and stuff?

all freshman applicants are considered for regents; nothing extra needs to be filled out or anything. they send you an email to notify you if you are selected for an interview.

Ektaylor: Does which part apply to transfer students? If you mean being contacted for an interview in early February, I don’t think so; I assume that it’s later, as the transfer admission notification is later. If you mean that being contacted for an interview = acceptance, then yes. Transfer students are called in for interviews, whereas internationals are not.

Castel: you are automatically considered for the Regents scholarship, but you aren’t automatically nominated for it; I think only about 1000 students are nominated (i.e. called in for an interview) each year. You’re also automatically considered for other scholarships (Alumni, Berkeley Undergrad, Cal Bears, Cal Opportunity, etc.). You don’t need to fill out special forms, but you do need to fill out the FAFSA, as you would need to anyway.
