Schools Considered:
Cornell Univ
New York Univ
Brown Univ
Penn State Univ
Univ of Maryland
Johns Hopkins Univ
Rutgers Univ (New Brunswick)
Carnegie-Mellon Univ

Your EC's, grades, and leadership positions are impressive. However, your awards are few, and your SAT scores are mediocre. Also, you aren't taking that many AP's, although I assume this is because there aren't that many offered by your school.
Cornell, Brown, and CMU will be reaches.
NYU and Johns Hopkins are slight reaches.
I'm not sure about the rest, but they'll probably be matches or safeties.

JHU is more selective than CMU.

I was under the impression that JHU's biomedical engineering program was extremely tough to get into, but the rest of the school isn't that selective.

the deal with JHU is that if you apply as a science major, it is ulta-competitive. You apply to chemistry, biology, or physics, or biomedical engineering, it is very competitive. If you apply as an english major, it is a lot easier. Don't take my word for it, but that is what I have heard and gathered.
