Decisions, decisions...

I’m a current sophomore, and I’m filling out next year’s course schedule (which will affect my senior year schedule). I need your opinion on which set of classes I should take.

I’ve completed .5 year (1 semester) of gym. I need 1 full year to graduate.

I’ve completed 1 year out out of 1.5 years of Fine Arts and Technology

Acc. Physics is a prerequisite to AP Physics

Computer Science I-Java is a prerequisite to AP Computer Science

Gym and Java are semester long courses and thus take up 1 period

Senior courses are projected

I plan on majoring in Aerospace Engineering

Here are my options.

Option 1
Junior Year
Religion
Acc. English III
AP Calc AB
APUSH
Acc. Physics
Acc. Spanish III
Computer Science I-Java
Gym

Senior Year
Religion
AP English
AP Calc BC
AP Gov or AP Euro
AP Physics C
AP Computer Science
AP Chem

OR

Option 2
Junior Year
Religion
Acc. English III
AP Calc AB
APUSH
Acc. Physics
Acc. Spanish III
AP Chem

Senior Year
AP English
AP Calc BC
AP Gov or AP Euro
AP Physics C
Gym
Computer Science I-Java
Discrete Math (weighted like an acc. course) / AP Bio / Astronomy + Astrology

Opt. 1
Pros:
I can take AP Computer Science

*Cons: *
I’ll have to take Gym junior year. Looks a lot easier than Option 2, and colleges might look down on that.

Opt. 2
Pros:
Looks like I’m challenging myself earlier on
I can take Discrete Math, or another AP science course

*Cons: *
I can’t take AP Computer Science

bump, anyone?

I pick Option 2.
It's probably more important that your junior year classes are more challenging than that you take one specific AP course.
You're still taking a computer science course in senior year so it's not as if you are giving it up for the sake of admissions.

^Yeah, I agree.

BTW, colleges don't count it against you if your school requires you to take gym, so it really doesn't matter if you take it junior or senior year.

like everyone else i say option 2.
