Decisions, decisions

I got accepted to UCLA as a fall admit (psychobiology major) and UC Berkeley as a spring admit (undeclared, college of letters and science). I've fallen in love with both schools; however, I have a band based in San Diego/Los Angeles that I'm deeply committed to (we're fortunate to have amazing connections). Would it be wise to let Berkeley go and make the more practical choice of going to UCLA? Or is Berkeley's reputation and environment totally worth the hassle?

I apologize if anybody gets irritated by my cross-posting

The difference between UCLA and Cal is negligible. Both are top schools.

Both are going to face HUGE undergraduate budget cuts.

I’m attending either school, so the impact of budget cuts is going to felt regardless

UCLA in this case, Spring admission sucks. You lose out on half your freshman year which is so critical to your experience.

I got into the extension program (FPF) at Berkeley. Would I still be missing out on the “freshman experience”? I’m probably leaning towards UCLA at this point; it seems more logical to stay in LA if I want to maintain this band. If anybody has any more input, that would be great :)

Yes FPF is a joke. You are disconnected from the campus for an entire semester. Freshman year is critical to meeting people/friends.
