Intended Major: Classics

I got waitlisted, kinda strange considering I just got an acceptance at Holy Cross, which I thought was similiar to Bucknell in terms of admission stats, especially since I submitted my SAT. It just shows you that admission is kinda random at the top schools. I definitely won't ask to be placed on the waiting list, but good luck to all that do.

gio14rlk7- No, I really don't have any plans to run at college. I was one of the top in my area when I was a freshman running 5Ks around 19:20, but due to several stress fractures, I do not plan to compete any longer after my senior track season.

I got waitlisted. I got that Presidential Fellowship letter (the one that says your within the top 5% of the applicant pool) a few weeks back. Still got waitlisted.

i guess it is just getting more competitive each year

Any other comments: congratulations to everyone who got accepted!!

I got in with only 1830 on SAT's...but I did SAT 2's as well... I don't think they matter too much

I am a mom of a freshman Bucknell student and I want to congratulate all of the acceptees and waitlisted students. It is a wonderful school and very, very, very few are disappointed in the Bucknell community.

But to those who say that the Bucknell admits were random this year is unfair. The Bucknell application asks a student what major they expect to declare, and I believe that students are admitted based on that choice, or based on that pool of applicants within that major. Bucknell was probably more competitve this year, but it and very few other colleges would admit in a random way.

I'm in and accepted admission. Stats:

GPA (at time of application): 4.32
SAT: 730 CR, 660 M, 800 W
APs: Taken 4 with 4s and 5s on them, enrolled in another four
Class rank (at time of application): 22 of 355
Awards: AP Scholar with Honor, American Legion Boys State, Regional History Day 2nd Place
Location: Lynchburg, VA
Major: Theatre (probably a big factor...I auditioned for and received a scholarship)
