i got rejected.. wasnt really expecting to since i got waitlisted at tech

This guy in my school.. hispanic, 3.5-ish GPA, 1100-ish SAT.. National honor society.. wrestling team captain.. lacross varsity.. working part time job.. just got wait-listed.

Ah, in-state too.

yea someone in my school got waitlisted too...i still havent recieved my stuff yet 3.5 ish GPA; SAT - 1310 720m 590e; decent/strong EC's...

id say i have 3.37-3.4 1180 SAT decent ec's guess its not good enough for them

I got waitlisted

1400 SAT
3.2 GPA
Less than avg. ECs

so the letters have been mailed? that's good.

sorry about the rejection, tron123. hope VaTech works out!
aldimeola, do you plan on trying to get into the school, or do you have other plans? I can't believe they waitlisted you. Even though your GPA is on the low end, you SAT score is incredible for JMU.This is not looking good for me at all. Before the few posts here, I thought this was a solid reach for me.

1270
3.01

bleh. I should be getting my rejection letter in a few days.

another girl i know got accepted into VTech but waitlisted into JMU her stats were around 3.8 with around 1200 SAT...sorry to put a damper on anyone...

i got rejected out right. wasn't expecting that. it's too competetive there for me i guess. oh well. what to do, what to do.

g17mike: that's quite surprising to me too. I honestly thought you would've gotten in through RD, because they only deferred and not rejected you from the EA/D process. Your GPA was decent for the school, and the SAT score well above average. Really, I'm shocked, and your rejection is only more proof that I will certainly be rejected as well. :( Oh well. Where else did you apply to? I don't remember you ever posting in any of the other VA college threads. If you didn't, you should've applied to the University of Mary Washington. It's supposedly easier to get into for guys, so you definitely would have been admitted. I just found out of my acceptance to the school today, and am very likely to attend it. It's arguably just as good as JMU.

i'm gonna kick it at community college for a couple years and hopefully transfer to uva. that's the plan at least.

im getting so impatient...i still haven't heard from JMU or GMU.. :

**my school sent my 1st semester senior grades to GMU but they never received it and I asked my school to send it again, but I had to ask twice because they forgot the first time. Will GMU wait for my grades to make their decision??

JMU is my #1 choice. The fact that my peers are receiving letters, both rejects and acceptances, and I have yet to hear anything is beginning to frustrate me. I got into tech last week, so we'll see.

got my acceptance email today... they said there was a delay in the mailings and we would get the acceptance packets this week.

Stiles...check you email (I just checked mine and found my acceptance), maybe there is something in there from JMU. Because as Harpingchic said they were having problems with mailing system so some of the letter got delayed.

Sorry to all those who were rejected.

***** yeah, i got in.

halfwayinthebox- although i got waitlisted, luckily i got into my first choice school, Ithaca College. Congrats on your acceptance to Mary Washington.

rejected :'(

im feeling great! rejected from both my top two choices!...

...i need tissues.

aww...i'm sorry for everyone who didn't get in.
it seems like in general, admissions were really random and weird this year. like, there seem to be so many cases where someone will get rejected from somewhere but then get into a much better school. how strange.

fhshortie08! I can't believe it. I really really thought you'd at least get accepted to JMU. Seems like this year is slightly more competitive than previous years. Or maybe you were just simply unlucky...don't worry, you should be receiving GMU's acceptance package really soon.

It's official, I've been rejected!

SAT: 630V, 640M, SATII Writing: 630
GPA: 3.03

So now I'm 2 for 4

Accepted:
University of Mary Washington
Virginia Commonwealth University

Rejected:
James Madison University
Virginia Tech

And I'm still waiting for GMU's decision.
