Decisions Mailed

oldfort, how do you know that theyre sending next day air to accepted students???

I agree with themerlion–the UPS tracking method is very vague. This is for the entire zip code, so surely someone else could have a random package flying in around April 1st. I guess we’ll just have to wait until tomorrow sigh

i really don’t know. the referance “D” is only working for some ppl on this board including myself. and apparently theyre all showing texas. maybe a sign?

ok lets do this:

if the referance D works for you, give ur state. I just want to make sure the texas air mail is not only for nyc.

This topic has been heavily discussed in previous years. My daughter applied to Columbia 3 years ago. She didn’t get an express mail. Everyone who got in got an express mail. There was a joke one year when the used DHL, so many students called, one rep actually said, “Congratulations, I guess you are calling about Columbia.”

Every year they use a different service. It is a big deal to scoop out which service Columbia is using that year.

okay so this cannot be true.

I just tried writing “D” for the country India and only one thing showed up and it was already delievered.

surely someone from India has gotten into Columbia so there’s no way this is correct.

plus, the photograph from the bwog could just be a file photograph. im gonna try dhl fedex to see if this works on their websites.

finally…i mean come on guys…it’s a few hours left and really are the columbia ppl so stupid. they’ve seen literally hundreds of thousands of students like us and they’re from columbia so if we can think of it, they probably would have and circumvented this apparent loophole.

the D thing worked for me. i’m from washington state

lwu2014, did it say it was from texas?

yes it did

I’m from Long Island, New York, about 20 miles away from Columbia.
Tracking Number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Deleted so that everyone does not track this package)
Status: Billing Information Received
UPS has received the electronic transmission of shipment detail from the shipper. Once UPS has possession of this shipment, the tracking status will be updated.

Billing Information Received Shipped To: ROSLYN, NY, US Shipped/Billed On: 03/31/2010 Type: Package Service: GROUND Weight: 1.00 Lb

Ground service. nice.

^^ Problem is, how do you know a package is yours? If multiple people applied at your school, couldn’t that package potentially be one of theirs?

(Conclusion: Let’s just wait until tomorrow.) :)

rubin: is your package being shipped FROM new york…? you still haven’t answered that

well if its saying texas for the both of us, it cant really be a huge coincidence. I think this maybe a good sign but dont take my word for it

D thing worked for me too but it says from texas as well… says it’s being delivered tomorrow and i’m from southern california

ahh i’m freaking out… but there’s tons of kids in my area code who applied hahah

There’s only one from Singapore and it’s from Texas too. Atleast it’s starts there…in Dallas and goes to Kentucky for some reason and then Alaska then Hong Kong. LOL.

omg i think im the only one from my are code that applied and not to be snobbish or anything, i think I’m the only true legit contender around here.

so we have nyc, washington, and cali so far: all arriving from texas…

“So typing “D” definitely would not narrow your search accurately.”

This whole this is so ridiculous and nerve-wracking, but ^this^ made me laugh lol…

Okay, I did the D thing.
It said I had 7 matches for my zip code, which makes sense because I know others from my school and area applied to Columbia. They’re all Next Day Air, scheduled to arrive April 1.
Also, I live in Texas, but for some reason it doesn’t tell the departure date. But judging by the time, I think mine are coming from in-state.

But I can’t find the package weight–where does it say this?

iono. did any of you apply to colleges in dallas/fort worth, texas? like…rice is near dallas…
