Decisions: next-day or regular mail?

Hi, does anyone know if colleges send decision notification letters through next-day or regular mail?

Thank you!

Different schools inform applicants differently. Most inform on-line, followed by USPS first-class mail. Others just send the decision USPS first-class mail. A few send the results UPS or Fedex.

@ glido: "A few send the results UPS or Fedex. " Really? That seems like a luxurious expense. Who does that?

@septembergurl: like glido said, colleges have their own policies. Most have online notification. My alma mater does not send rejection letters to everyone. After a period of 5 or 7 days, if they see that a rejected applicant has not checked the decision, only then will they follow up with a FCM letter. The acceptees obvious start receiving lots of info. The waitlisters receive an FCM letter as well.

Babson sent it via UPS

I believe that Vanderbilt sends large priority mail envelopes to acceptees.

Hm…so it just depends on the college…thanks! I know from the Facebook of one of the colleges I’m waiting on, that decisions were mailed yesterday… I’m just trying to figure out if I should expect it tomorrow or next week.

Plan on next week and be pleasantly surprised if you get it earlier.
