Decisions on Banner Web Link

As all of you know, Smith's web site has a banner web link where
the applicant/student can check the status of their admission or financial aidapplication.

Are they going to post online decisions at the banner web link?

Is it a positive sign for admission into Smith if the applicant has access to Smith's banner web link?

If memory serves, my daughter did find out about her acceptance online. It must have been on BannerWeb. I also recall that the acceptances were posted the same day the letters went out because I was surprised to hear the joyous sounds coming from her room so early.
Best of luck !!

As I recall RD acceptances did go on Bannerweb last year, I also think that the little envelope was notification of a Stride fellowship and that you also get a big envelope with more info but maybe a few days later. To check on Bannerweb you go to the Smith web site and click on Banner web at the bottom right. Your ID and password (unless you have changed it should be the student # they sent you when you sent in your application). I think they all start 99 and then have 7 more numbers. Good luck to you all.

yeah well I checked the banner web link and there was no sign of a decision anywhere. Maybe that's because I'm probably rejected :( Oh well, I'll find out in a few more days.

Do you guys know if they post decisions on BannerWeb for Ada Comstock Scholars too? I'm a very hopeful Ada applicant, and I'm dying over here!

My guess is that you will get your decision through snail mail, as other people who received scholorships did. However, your guess is probably as good as mine because I thought that no decisions were posted online (Only because my ed decision was not. I still memorized my banner web number and checked it every couple of seconds with futile hope that it would be posted!) Good Luck!!

Last year I checked my decision through BannerWeb. I would only assume the same thing would happen this year.

..whats the site? and i dont think i got any number =(

Thanks firelu!

If you go to www.smith.edu, there is a bannerweb link in the bottom right corner. When Smith recieves an application, they send a piece of paper that explains how to access bannerweb to track one's application. This page has the applicant's user ID. If you didn't get one, you might want to call the admissions office.

I know how to log into Bannerweb... can anyone who found the decision online in the past tell me 1) if there is an email from Smith that says the decision is now available online, 2) it is obvious once logged it (cf having to search through all of the links), and 3) do they post rejections as well as acceptances?

As I recall you go to file that says admissions and it should be obvious. I believe it says class of 09 rather than pending, but I don't remember for sure. I don't think you get an email saying it is up, but I would bet on today or tomorrow.
Good luck

I just got an email saying to check the website after 6 tomorrow. Unfortunately I will be just starting a 7 hr car trip so I will have to wait a little longer! Good luck everyone that's waiting!!

Verifying that my D got the same email, after 6pm tomorrow on the banner. This would be a good time to be keeping a journal.

Oh yeah, i got the email too. it was in my bulk folder and i was about to trash it but i thought it might be important because i never have anything in my bulk folder.. yeah i nearly had a heartattack when i saw what i was about to trash

i was about to poop in my pants b/c i was so nervous. then i noticed it's only like 1:30pm ET. geez. every click scared the heck outta me.

The good news is that my D's admission letter is up on bannerweb. The bad news - waitlisted. Oh well. Good Luck to you all.

Odonata, don't give up hope. One of my D's friends was waitlisted a couple of years ago, is at Smith and doing well, and just lined up an investment banking internship with CitiGroup for the summer. Hang in there.

Thanks for the encouraging words!
