All of my friends who got in ED received notification at 4PM EST or 4:30PM EST, but I have a feeling the difference in time is just when they logged on to the WUSTL pathway.

From what I’ve gathered from other friends who either currently go to WashU or were admitted this year ED, the admissions office posts regular decision results before their spring break starts. I’m pretty sure that their spring break begins this weekend, so we will definitely find out today or tomorrow (they’re not going to want to deal with all of that work the day before spring break). In addition, given that there is always the risk of server problems when decisions are released, I think it would make more sense for the office to announce today as they will then be able to deal with potential server hiccups tomorrow without having an overly-stressful Friday.

Someone want to put up a new thread for RD results, with formatting? And a results discussion thread? (Or a link to this thread for discussion?) I think it should be a student, not a parent. :)

The time was a little iffy, so I checked 602news’s profile and he/she’s not a parent. I wouldn’t get my hopes up, even though I sure wish 602news’s ■■■■■■■■ is correct.

Just called, WashU’s admissions office. According to them there are rumors going on that we release decisions today. That is not true, but the decisions are going to be out some time before April 1. Are they telling the truth?

I don’t know whether the admissions office will be truthful concerning when decisions aren’t coming out, but I’m fairly certain that they won’t be telling people in advance when they come out. Posters made the same claims last year about the admissions office confirming release dates/times in advance and none of them were right.

Also, whether today is the day or not, best of luck to all those waiting on a decision!!

Given that WashU does not have an officially published announcement date (just the basic “before April 1st” thing), I don’t think someone in the admissions office is going to be able to say when it is coming out; they are most likely not allowed to disseminate such information. WashU has set a precedent in the past of announcing application decisions before its spring break, and seeing as their spring break is next week, I would assume that the decisions will be posted today or tomorrow… PREFERABLY TODAY!!

If I recall correctly, my acceptance at Wash U was the most satisfying because the first word in the decision on the Pathway was a big “congratulations.” To my surprise, quite a number of the other schools I applied to did not begin their acceptance letters in that truly classic way.

So that’s what you all get to look forward to.

My S is an applicant and I just spoke to admissions. I asked when they will be coming out and she gave the pat answer, “before April 1st” Then I pressed her about the history of them coming out before the WashU break, so will they be out either today, tomorrow or Friday, and she said she could not comment. Then she said, “Good luck!” I think either the people who answer the phone (probably work study students) either don’t know or really cant say. Either way, we will not find out by calling the school. Good luck to everyone!

I don’t think the admissions office would lie about the decisions not being released today. But I think someone could call again tomorrow and ask if tomorrow’s the day, and see what they say. :)
