Today a girl in my class said that she already heard from UofMichigan and was accepted.... I asked her how she heard back early, and she said its because she applied before November 1st-- so did I though. Have some decisions been sent out? Or is she just lying?

She is in-state and with a gpa of about 3.75

Sorry guys! False alarm. She was talking about UofM- Dearborn.

You got me all excited there for a minute thinking they were already out! haha.

I would check emails today…2 yrs ago they released on the 16th so that would coincide with today. They don’t
seem to release too close to Christmas for obvious reasons.
Just checked my daughter’s acceptance email…came in at 3:28pm 2 yrs ago.

Will they inform people about when the decisions are realeased or they will just give out decisions suddenly?

I really feel for all of you waiting to hear early action!. This is how it happened for my son last year. He received a Heads Up email a day or two prior to decisions coming out. It was an email telling you decisions were coming out and to be looking for it. On friday…it seemed the decisions started coming out by email. Several kids applied from his school. His good friend was accepted and my son didn’t get his acceptance till and hour and a half later. It was a very long hour and a half! His other friend didn’t get an email and was deferred on Monday. Be prepared to wait. Keep yourself busy. My son watched a movie.good luck to all of you. It all works out for the best. Go Blue!

Just so you know they seem to wait until after school hours for both EST and CST before emails start coming

Decisions seem to have been released on the 16th the last 2 yrs. An email is send out in advance so they don’t end up in your spam folder.

According to info on the EA thread there will be no heads up email sent this year. Two students posted copies of letters sent to their GC. If the emails are real (I think they are) one which looks like it was sent to a high school in CT said starting tomorrow. The other looked like it was sent to Birmingham, MI and referred to the schools high profile and said some student’s from that school would start hearing today after 3:00. So if every thing is accurate, you should start to see decisions coming out this afternoon and then going out in batches for a few days. Good luck!

It’s not the date so much as the DAY. My son received his e-mail the FRIDAY before the 24th, which in 2010 was December 17. The decisions came out in batches all day. It seemed like acceptances came out first and then deferrals. He got the e-mail while in school that day in central time.

I know this is a stressful time (our family has gone through it twice) and I wish everyone good luck and patience!

Thanks for the info everybody! The waiting is just killing me. I have wanted to go to Michigan for as long as I can remember, since it is my family’s favorite school. I’m so stressed thinking that in 24 hours, I will probably know if I got in!

Just a random question: I just realized that I forgot to list that I took an AP test my sophomore year. I put on the common app that I took AP Euro, but not that I got a four on the test. Do you think that will be a problem on my app? If so, would I be overreacting to call or email admissions and tell them about the mistake? Especially since decisions are coming out soon. Of course, I’m freaking out that it is going to be a major factor in my decision now. I need to distract myself from all of this! haha.

AP exam scores aren’t considered in your application, it won’t affect your admission decision.

That’s such a relief to hear! Thanks!
