"not to take anything away from the people accepted, but some of their stats were not good enough to get into UCD… "

…seriously? that was totally unnecessary, grow up.

@wittywriter… thanks. but you don’t know anything about them. maybe something happened to them that make them outstanding! thats why we have essays… im really thankful that UCs actually care about ECs and personal hardships.

@wittywriter:

It’s much more than purely the scores, it’s also their personalities and stories in their essays

-What do you know about the people admitted anyways?

-I’m willing to side with the UCD Admissions officials over an irate applicant on who’s “good enough to get into UCD”

okay i said that out of pure anger, shock, and disappointment, mostly because my neighbor came over and she has a 3.3 gpa, minimal to no ec’s and a sat score below 1700… I am so sorry to those i did offend.
However i don’t want to/ feel the need to debate my personal opinions and once again sorry, because the people who got in did work hard and do deserve their spot.
But, honestly to the people above me how do you know i haven’t faced personal hardships, because believe me i have. The reason i am so upset is because i just really fell in love with Davis and it would be really affordable for me to go there, unlike the east coast schools i have been accepted to.

I honestly wasnt offended,so don’t sweat it. I mean you have, like, a whole 1.0 above my GPA. i would be mad too.

@wittywriter

I understand your position but just keep in mind that some things are best left unsaid/unstated even if it came “out of pure anger, shock, and disappointment.”

Im with you all the way my man. This honestly has been history-that the majority of accepted people here are way below a 4.0, and arent all that spectacular-at least they can’t present on here at least. I honestly dont know what Davis did this year-but apparently it seems as if “being a lucky ass” was part of the admission criteria this year

Wittywriter,
I hope you know that UC admission readers do not accept letter of recommendations, so you don’t have to go through the trouble of getting it. Even if you try, I don’t think there’s a way to send the recs. They’ll only consider your essays and everything up till the end of summer. It would be unfair to other applicants if they consider anything after the admission deadline. I think you have a better shot at both UCs if you stay on the waitlist. I know it’s frustrating, but hopefully ELC kids can free up some room. Good luck!

waitlisted??? Davis was my first freaking choice!! :(

i put biomedical engineering. got into uci, ucsb, ucsd and cal poly already
