@StaticRoar: It’s entirely possible. I have a friend whose sister got into Cal and LA but not Davis for example. That said, I didn’t know SC did that. I’m surprised since you have a higher UC GPA than me and also got waitlisted from SLO while I was flat rejected.

@StaticRoar: Oftentimes. I believe a year or two ago a fuss was raised because Berkeley and Santa Cruz were communicating with each other over who applied to each school. Generally students were accepted to one or the other and not both. Apparently UCSC assumes that people who are getting into Berkeley will not SIR to UCSC.

@ Ahmer50 Yeah, admission decisions have been weird for me so far. I got into Brandeis today, which is far better than UCSC and Cal Poly SLO. I guess I’ll find out my fate this weekend with Davis, San Diego, and Irvine all releasing decisions.

And your stats are impressive. I would have been shocked if you hadn’t been accepted. Even though your GPA is lower, it was done at a top 50 public HS. And your SAT score is stellar.

@ Liesel Oh gosh, that’s good news. But I am in no way Berkeley bound, haha. Let’s hope UCSC is conversing with the other UCs though…

I got into UCSC GPA=3.8 SAT=1650 =/ ACT:24 with almost 100 community hours
Congratulation everyone and if you didn’t make it good luck to you!! Btw I applied for Information Systems Management
