I think Chicago cares too much about the quality of the students to quickly disregard applicants. I really believe that they’d take everyone into account in a fair bit of detail before rejecting anyone.

And the decisions come out at 3am my time. OUCH. But I will be up for it because it’s my first US decision and I’m just really excited about that. And also I can’t wait to FINALLY be able to post on one of these decision threads!

This will seriously mess up my math test tomorrow. Also, it’s gonna be 6am so I’ll have to go to bed knowing that when I’ll get up the next day decisions will be online.

Gahhh, I’m going to be frantically refreshing my Chicago account page starting 10:30 pm. Why oh why is it so late in the day? What will I do with myself in the in time between?!?!

We will be mailing out paper letters tomorrow as well, although they will not arrive before we post the online notifications. And, to answer some questions about why we are posting so late- we’re going to post late to a) catch you when you’re not in school/should not be sneakily checking your e-mails (only somewhat joking here), and b) attempt to combat some of the server space issue we ran in to by posting in the afternoon for EA decisions, as we assume that the Friday just before our Spring Break at nighttime will not be a high-traffic time for students on campus on our University servers, and therefore will not compromise your ability to access your decision in a timely fashion.

It was quite hysterical at our school for EA. Even though I didn’t apply EA, a lot of my friends did, and decisions came out right when our school ended. They all cluttered in our physics room with the computers and it was essentially a race to see who could get onto the server first. I think the later time is fine. I’ll wait for the paper letter regardless.

You’ve GOT to be kidding me!!! I leave for the Netherlands tomorrow, and will be departing RIGHT BEFORE decisions come out (like 1-2 hours)!!! Is there no way to release at maybe 5 PM PST??
