Decisions

I just found out I was rejected… :(

@manarius: Sadly, mine never came today :frowning:
I feel you on the 0 for 2…I’m 1 for 4, and my only acceptance was to CU…not really where I want to go. And I got waitlisted at what I thought was my other safety school, Case Western. So I’m not too hopeful about ANYTHING left, because they are all much more competitive.

Darn…best of luck to you all! Wish me luck too :)

waitlisted

Waitlisted…
I feel like evryone else that did not get accepted did though… D:

waitlisted in so california…

Waitlisted as well. I’m surprised, to be honest. I thought it was in the bag :(

@roderick - To the best of my knowledge, Carleton is “need aware”. My son is still waiting to learn his decision. We’re in Florida. Maybe tomorrow.

waitlisted.
2340 Eagle Scout 4.1 GPA

tbh I am bewildered and somewhat insulted.

Accepted with very generous FA package
I am humbled and grateful.
SAT: 2380
ACT: 35
SAT II: 800-800-780

Hook: Asian American applying to LAC

It is an amazing school and people were so friendly! My parents really loved Carleton College.

Waitlisted. Disappointing but not unexpected.

Congratulations to those who were accepted, and fingers crossed for all my comrades on the waitlist. :)

waitlisted too…
also got into U of Chicago. Perhaps the reason is because Carleton is a small school
Seem like a lot of people got waitlisted from Carleton this year !

Congrats to whoever got accepted !!! I love Carleton…too bad they didnt love me :(

Accepted! Got into UChicago EA too
I am an international by the way :)

Congratulations to those accepted - I hope you are able to attend Accepted Student Weekend.

I second what fireflyscout said on all counts. metaphy6, you have some great options and I’m sure you’ll do well wherever you land.

College decisions, especially waitlist decisions, can be baffling, disappointing, and don’t often make sense. metaphy6, I’m so sorry you’re disappointed, and best of luck wherever you end up. It sounds like you have some great options ahead of you!

Waitlisted. Oh well, better than a straight out rejection, like I got from Macalester.

Actually, the waitlist is better than I expected lol.

This message thread shows that Carleton is not the “safety” most people expect it to be - especially to those who thought “it was in the bag.”

I can’t believe ANYONE would ever think Carleton is a safety school. Carleton is one of the most prestigious LAC’s, how could it be a “safety”???

I agree with you - but some people think because Carleton is in MN and has a high acceptance rate, it is an “easier” admittance. I’ve seen students apply to Carleton after they did not get admitted EA/ED thinking surely I will get in.

My S received waitlist letter today.

SAT 2100, GPA 3.9 (unweighted), Full IB Diploma Candidate, top 5%, successful debater

Carleton was his top choice. I’m pretty sure he’ll want to accept a position on the waitlist, even though it sounds like a long shot. How about the rest of you waitlisted at Carleton?
