If it makes you feel any better, the time which you receive your application most likely has no bearing on your admittance status. I received my acceptance to UCI for the Bus. Admin major later than a lot of my friends, around march or april.

Did anyone that’s already been accepted turn their application within, say, the last 6 hours on Nov 30th?

Is there information on freshman admission average GPA by major (specifically Bio)?

[UC Irvine Office of Institutional Research](<a href=“Office of Academic Planning and Institutional Research - UCI Academic Planning and Institutional Research”>Office of Academic Planning and Institutional Research - UCI Academic Planning and Institutional Research)

For biological sciences for Fall 2011, there was a and admission rate of 55% , with average enrolled student weighted GPA of 3.91 and a SAT I of 1762

@UChopeful928 … THANK YOU! That’s exactly what I was looking for–and more!

Wow, nursing and business have higher average GPAs than engineering and bio.
I wouldn’t have guessed that.

Yea ikr also does anyone happen to know anyone who was accepted to an interdisciplinary studies major? Also if anyone doesnt know, the UCs arent looking at top 4% (ELC applicants) , its top 9% instead, but wont be notified early because the campus level like Irvine and Santa Barbara and Riverside guarantees are no longer present so no theres no point

@maxillarymola
yea the business school is the hardest to get into but generally if you stats are good enough for Irvine admission but not your major they will generally put you in your alt major or undecided so dont worry about your major if you feel like you can into UCI no problem

after the first wave, has anyone else heard from UCI?

Last year for political science average sat score was: 1793 and average gpa was 3.8…

[UC Irvine Office of Institutional Research](<a href=“Office of Academic Planning and Institutional Research - UCI Academic Planning and Institutional Research”>Office of Academic Planning and Institutional Research - UCI Academic Planning and Institutional Research)

so glad political science has lower averages than most majors, that makes me feel a bit better.

I’ve got a 3.67 and 1960…do i have a chance?

@sportsfan1234 Id say you have an average chance of admission because of your GPA unless you have some good hooks or essays… Best of luck you too though
Could you chance me??
I am worried because I have very few to no dedicated ECs or volunteer work but I have a UC GPA of 4.2 and an SAT 1850 and SATs II of 690 and 680 and am ELC
and I applied to Comp Sci and Engineering and alternate major of Comp. Engineering (GPA average is 3.9 and SAT average of 1800)

“Irvine - decisions for students admitted to the Honors Program came out February 1; the rest of the decisions will come out everyday at MyAdmissions Application from mid-March to the last day of March”

^ Ms. Sun

How do they select honors students? Is it solely on GPA/SAT? I have a 4.4W gpa, 31 ACT, and ranked 10/750 at my high school, but i know many people with lower stats than me at my school who were accepted early february…

^ I have the same question.

Also, does this mean that students who get accepted from mid-March to the last day of March are not invited to the CHP?

“Many entering freshmen are invited to the Program while in their senior year in high school. No application is required. Based on the student’s UC Irvine Admissions Application, faculty in the UCI school of the student’s major make this selection. Invitational letters are sent in late February and are conditional upon the students’ acceptance by UCI Admissions and completion of the UC Entry level writing requirement before students begin their coursework in the fall.” (A Message From the Director of Development | Campuswide Honors Collegium)

Seems like it. Not to mention Honors Experience Day is on March 3rd, which further reinforces that.

But it looks like if you get accepted, you can still apply to be in the CHP.

is the next decision day in march?

I would like to know when the next decision day is too!

My friend that is a Nursing major got into the honors college last Tuesday, which means that it’s possible that they’re accepting people into the honors college up until the end of this month. Keep your hopes up!

I, however, still haven’t heard from them.
I applied as an Ecology and Evolutionary Biology major.

STATS:
UC weighted GPA: 4.1
SAT: 2260
SATII Bio (E): 780
SATII Math: 800
SAT II Chinese w/Listening: 780
SAT II Chem: 690 (oops)
National Merit Finalist
AP Scholar with Honor
National Honor Society
Course load: difficult (5 weighted classes my junior year, 3 this year)
Rank: N/A (I go to a super competitive public school that does not rank)

I also have a lot of ec’s (volunteering 5 hrs a week, President of two clubs, work part-time 8 hrs/wk, art, track and field for two years…etc)

People with “lower stats” have been accepted to the honors college already, which makes me nervous that I did something wrong on my app.

I haven’t been accepted or invited to the honors program yet. I was invited to apply for Regents at both UCB and UCLA, so I find this a bit odd. Maybe you only get a set number of invitations to these programs across all UCs, since as far as I know nobody I know has gotten more than 2 invitations although I know many others who got 2?

Is it the SAT 1 1762 for all the sections?
And could you get in with a 3.8 UC GPA…and a lower sat…
my friend is dying to know!

I just been notified that I’ve been accepted.

ACT: 30, UC GPA: 4.4
California resident
Major: Computer Science at Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Science

Brace yourselves. The admissions are coming.
