Decisions?

What is the earliest that we can find out if we got in if we applied by the priority deadline (not for honors)?

depends on a lot of things...if u got really good grades and SAT scores then they ll notify u very quickly...if u applied right on the priority date then it'll take longer...also depends on how many pple applied this year.

But my guess would be by the end of december if u got a strong application

Well... I guess I have the pleasure of posting one of the first UW acceptances on this CC board for class of 2009. My D heard today from admissions. The letter was dated Dec. 1. Both H and I are alums....we're probably more excited than she is! Her app was submitted 2nd week in Nov. Good luck to everyone else!

I've heard some of my friends accepted too. I sent my application in first few days of November and haven't heard back yet. I thought I had pretty decent stuff, 1290 SAT and 3.97 UW GPA. This other person had lower GPA and SAT than me, and applied after me, and already got letter of acceptance. ???? Blah....

Do they send you a big package or a regular small envelope if you get accepted?

The envelope was white and 8X11. However, all it had in it was the admissions letter and a thin brochure showing some memorable scenic spots around the campus. The letter says a packet will be coming soon.
Dopke-your stats look fine! Last year, D's boyfriend applied with very similar stats (slightly lower in both areas) and knew before Christmas.

Do all of you live in Washington? I live in CA so it may be longer for me...my stats are 3.83 and 1220 and I submitted my on November 24. Congratulations to your daugther!

casey what were your d's stats

It seems like the applicant pool for UW this year is much higher than it was in previous years...

docintraining-- She has a 1480, 3.9+ unweighted, NM commended, 2 parents that are avid/supportive Husky alums, and 2 siblings that currently attend the school.
We are out of state (if that matters). Lots of things that probably combine for acceptance.
Keep the faith, guys. It's very early yet!!

Wuow, thats pretty good track record for being out-of-state.

I know that you get a UW net ID after you submit ur application. Do they notify u under ur net id too? Or is it just there to see if all ur stuff is in...

D's UW net ID says that her app has been reviewed and that "notification of results will arrive by mail when results of the review become available." I guess they do it all by mail, though D submitted online (I think). It shows that her SAT's got posted Nov 19th from her Nov.6 testdate, which I think is kind of interesting. So the school got them about the time we got them online.

Hmm... mine has been saying its "awaiting a preliminary review" for the past four weeks. -.-. Hopfully mine did not get lost or something...

dopke dont worry, u ll get in

In my very limited experience with UW admisssions (my kids -- and a few friends at their Ca. HS), I think it is the exception to hear early--not the rule. I think it takes an early submit date and pretty (very) high stats to get that early envelope....so don't stress! Several years ago, S had huge SAT's and lesser grades and did not hear until March. D's friends last year who had 1200's and 3.7's didn't hear anything until March either.
It's way way too early to worry about this. Many of the kids who will be accepted haven't even applied yet.
Enjoy the holidays!!

Even if they applied by priority? You are talking about after prioirity applications right?

"Autumn quarter 2005 admission applications that are complete by January 15th (postmark dates are honored) usually receive an initial review within six - eight weeks after the Admissions Office receives all required documents, but this is often longer during peak periods."

Since I submitted my application on November 4th, I think I have to wait at least 4 weeks before calling up to ask about it. :|

I wonder how the envelope of a rejection looks like =O

Neone gotten one or know someone who has?

I'm sure that you're going to be accepted Seven. I'm not so sure about myself though..

I just can't wait until I get into my first school...then I'll know that I'll be at least going somewhere!!!
