Decisions

UMass has terrible merit aid for in-state students.

You got $1000 more than my kid got, and he had slightly better stats, and was also an engineering major. He didn’t apply EA though.

I hope you are also getting the Adams, if so $3700/year is not that bad.

Whoa wait how does Umass decide on scholarships? It must be random because I got 5000 and my sat was like 1170/1730 and I have a 3.5 gpa… Pretty low compared to you guys I’m surprised…

You have to remember, we already get a good tuition rate when compared to OOS students so, MA students will only receive the minimum. Twin908 are you from MA? My son had a 3.5 GPA and 28 ACT and did not get any money but acceptance. He did get the John and Abigail Scholarship. International students have to remember that mail takes a week to get to your country and then another few days to get to your local post office ~ 10 days or more? My son’s spire account changed the morning of the mail delivery. The same thing happened with another college acceptance letter too.

Still waiting in San Diego. Apparently I am not a very patient person

My son’s status switched to “Under review” yesterday.

Anyone from the “xyz” end of the alphabet hear yet. DS is listed under review, he applied to Isenberg. A few friends of his have heard, they all applied to the arts and sciences school and are also at the beginning of the alphabet.

Accepted

Commonwealth Honors College
$10K Scholarship
3.5 GPA unweighted
2080 SAT
Very rigourous course load, nothing below honors for 4 years, 4 AP Classes

Considered UMass a safety school but need to take a second look and talk to the coach…

"I hope you are also getting the Adams, if so $3700/year is not that bad. "

Since when is it $3700? I was told the Adams scholarship is for tuition only. When you look at the "Tuition and Fees’ breakdown, the tuition portion is only $900. I hope I am wrong, but I was told it covers tuition only, not tuition and fees.

It is $857 per semester (so $1714) plus the $2000 scholarship received.

@freecycle…DS back end of the alphabet (S) and still under review. He’s an A student with strong SAT and EC’s so it probably comes down to the quantity of apps to sift through and time!

To those still waiting and checking online status; I received my acceptance package in the mail two days ago and my status still says “Under Review”; I think you will have better luck checking the mailbox  Good luck, fingers crossed for you!

just got accepted to the Isenberg School of Management in the mail, my spire account still says “under review”

GPA: 3.3

Goodluck to all!

MEsearch…same boat GPA 4.2 ACT 32 and still waiting. Hoped to hear because I was planning on visiting over winter break

** It is $857 per semester (so $1714) plus the $2000 scholarship received.**

good to know, thanks!

Just got my letter in the mail–Honors College & Dean’s scholarship :)

I am end of alphabet and haven’t hear yet. I live in MA and applied EA.

I am out of state, applied late October (Early Action) and haven’t heard anything :frowning: However, my neighbor who applied a week earlier than I did in October got her acceptance package on the 17th. Not quite sure what’s going on. Going to keep waiting…

I got my acceptance letter in the mail today! $10,000 Chancellor’s Scholarship & Honors College acceptance! I have a 30 ACT score, 4.16 weighted GPA, and am in the top 10% of my class.

Accepted as a Legal Studies (BA) major!
Also accepted to the Commonwealth Honors College with an $8,000 Chancellor’s Scholarship.
