Accepted!
Major: psychology
Deans scholarship: 5k
Got letter in mail and Spire hasn’t updated yet.

Oh and I’m OOS. I live in NYC. SAT: 1750/2400 and 3.6 gpa

I only got 2000$ aswell. I have a 32 composite on my act and a 4.3 unweighted gpa. I feel a little ripped off.

Is anyone in-state getting more than 2k in the Dean’s Scholarship?

Doesn’t sound like it. Sounds like in-state gets 2k and some OOS people get 5-10K.

In state, 3.4 GPA, 2380 SAT, Biochemistry
2k Dean’s Scholarship

just heard in MD

I don’t know too much about this yet, but if your major is one of the following you may be able to get more money:

Business
Finance and Accounting
Sciences
Nursing
Mathematics
Engineering
Computer Science
Technology (all related - Computer and Information Systems Technology, etc.)
Teacher Education - Mathematics
Teacher Education - Science
Teacher Education - Special Education
Physical and Occupational Therapy

Still waiting on Long Island. In all honesty, UMass is not a top choice for DS, but I would still like to find out the verdict! His SPIRE status shows pending/under review. They had all aspects of his application before November 1. Interested in engineering.

For those who have heard already, when did you apply? Does that seem to matter? Are they just inundated in admissions?

@LINYMOM - Son still waiting in MA, also interested in engineering and submitted in same time frame. Spoke to admissions on Monday and they said they still have quite a few applications they have not had a chance to look at yet. They review right through middle of January! Was told there is no significance to location, honors, GPA’s etc., in the review process. Just one at a time and there are a lot of EA’s this year.

MEsearch: Thanks. As I said, DS not concerned, but I would like to know!

We are in MA and also still waiting to hear. Son’s status still says “Under review” he got his application in right on Oct 31st but it took a few days for his supporting docs to get to UMass.

Accepted instate to business!

Congrats to everyone else who got in!!!

I haven’t heard anything yet. Spire still says “under review”. My mom is freaking out, thinking that the people who already got accepted must be people who have higher stats than me.

For what it’s worth, here’s mine:
GPA: 3.5W
SAT: 2230/2400
Rank: Top 25%
6 APs, 320+ hours of service, National Merit Commended, National Latin Honor Society

I’m applying for Accounting.

I just saw that my on-line status changed to admitted, but no mention of Honors college. Does it mean that I didn’t get in to Honors? My unwieghted GPA is 4.3 and SAT are 2130/2400. No letter arrived yet. Was really hoping for Honors.
