Decisions

When are RD admissions due out and can you get decision online?

Hey Scrowman,

Regular Decision offers of admission are due in your mailbox by April 1. If you live near Lafayette (in the Northeast), it is very possible that the decision may come a day or two earlier because all decisions are sent out a few days before April 1 to ensure that ALL applicants receive their decisions by that date.

Lafayette does not have an online decision website. I guess you will just have to wait patiently until that fat envelope ends up in your mailbox.

I know how tough it is waiting for a decision, but hang in there!

J

Thanks for the info J- I guess my son can wait a little longer! Hopefully he'll have some difficult decisions to make at that time.

how will the decision reach for international students? will they send it by express delivery (courrier) or by US MAIL?

I'm not sure how they're sending it, but they do send emails to accepted international students.

they've already sent out acceptances to those who recieved a scholarship

I received an acceptance today! I guess it's because I got Marquis scholar and the 'Marquis Scholars Day' is April 3rd or 7th. The dates are too close to April 1st to be waiting for the official date. The acceptance letter was so sweet; it had me grinning from ear to ear. It was a personal letter, not a generic one. I could tell because they talked about my high school, my major, my interests, and even what my essay was specifically about. It was also signed personally. I was touched.

Cool. Son got Trustee Scholarship for $8,000/year today. Do you know the stats necessary for each?

Well the brochure states that recipients typically are in the top 3-4% of graduating class and have SAT mid-50% scores in the 1390-1480 range. Are the Trustee scholar days the same as Marquis?

the trustee scholars day is on March 31. So no, it's not the same day as the Marquis... I'm so excited!

I think the acceptance letters were a little more generic than we all thought, for my letter also talked about my high school, major, essay, extracurricular activities, and was signed.... I think it is much easier for schools to plug in each of these into their basic letter.

My S got his acceptance letter yesterday - and received a Marquis scholarship.

As a potential applicant for next year and will only be able to attend with a scholarhsip, can those Marquis and Trustee winners share their profiles? Thanks so much! And very warm CONGRATULATIONS!

I got my acceptance today! Plus Marquis Scholarship.
It was nice and personalized, too.

Very quick for bluejay:
2320 SAT, 800/740/730- SAT IIs, AP Psych- 5, AP US History- 5, about 4.0 GPA (my only B was on my midyear report), lots of volunteer hours, Varsity field hockey for 3 years, dance, fencing.

But my brother attends now (class of 2007), and he got the Marquis scholarship with a 1450 SAT and several B's on his transcript.

My S had a 1440 SAT, first in class, 5's on 2 AP's junior year. Taking 4 AP's senior year.

Son received Trustee award. Said only 32 were so fortunate. How many Marqis awards? Thanks.

So there's hope...thanks for sharing!

I got a Trustee award with a 2170 SAT (780 W, 700 M, 690 CR)... 700/660/660 SAT IIs... 3.9 GPA with mostly AP classes... 2 varsity sports, volunteer work etc

age 136,
Son got 620cr, 710w, 770m, 720,730,780 SAT II.
4 yr class pres, all regional football, also ice hockey, track
3/276 rank etc., But, what I really wanted to know is how many Marquis scholarships are awarded yearly. Thanks. PS If you ever meet my son(John) , don't tell him I'm on this web site. He won't be happy.

well I know that combined, the Trustee scholarships and Marquis scholarships are granted to about 15% of the entering class... that's the only statistic I could find...
