decisions?

who knows when decisions are mailed??

they are being mailed. Internationals usually don't hear from them until the end.

like as in i could get mine anyday?

they're sending out early write acceptances in a slow trickle. after the first 100-150 or so, they've been sending out between 5-10 letters a week, and will continue to do so until the RD deadline. these are however, only acceptance letters (not rejection or wait list decisions). so yes, you could get yours anyday, if you got in :)

oh but when do you regular decisions get sent out (not early writes) i got deferred from williams so i'm not planning on getting an early write and i'm ready to get rejected but i still have a little hope.

" Internationals usually don't hear from them until the end."

Actually, internationals hear before Americans as they email the decisions. At least that's how it was in ED.

Hello32, what were your stats?

34 act
730 writing sat 2, 700 math 1 sat 2
top 10 % with a 4.145 (weighted) very competitive public school
girl scout gold award and other comm service
lots and lots of tennis but not actually recruited, but did communicate with coach
president of model un, treasurer of band (play percussion) and treasurer of musical honors society
etc..

edit: also 2 kids in my school got in ED so idt they would take 3.. one had a legacy, one had strong push from the band dept. oh well.

Hi noxiousnirvana,I am a Singapore candidate. And I have just finished reading your thread. What do you mean by international students will know the result through email before Americans do? Does that mean that Williams Adcom will only send emails to international students? If this is so, then what is the date for them to send out those emails?
Thank you very much for your help=)

dodobird:

Williams admission office traditionally sends decisions by regular mail. But regular mail takes about a month (in my case) to reach foreign countries and they sometimes don't even reach the destinations (happened to one of my friends). So the admission committee notifies internationals about the decisions by emails. So ints end up knowing about their decisions before US citizens. Hope this answers your question.

When are regular decision letters sent out?

By mid-April.

I am kind of freaking out. did any of you call the admission office to check if they miss any part of your applications after you submitted them? did the adcom send you anything indicating that your applications are complete? one of my friends told me that he found out williams was still missing his SAT scores by the end of Feb and the admission office didn't notify him until he called himself.

i got a postcard from Williams saying my application was complete (all components recieved...) that was a month ago.

i did get a postcard but it only says the admission office would notify me if there is anything missing. when i emailed williams to ask if my file is complete, they simply answered that they would call me if there is any problem. i really hope that they have got everything

I would just give them a call tomorrow afterschool or something.

i just called, and the secretary told me that there is no way to check if the supplementary materials have been received and i just have to hope for the best that they got it in my file. was any of you able to check if your resumes, supplementary writing samples...are received by the school? I cant help but feeling really worried.

No, I haven't checked or anything. Don't worry about it! I'm sure you're fine! (A note for future reference: Usually when I send stuff, I attach a "delivery confirmation receipt" and just check online to see if it reached the designated destination. its like $0.50 extra)

If you haven't gotten a call/email/letter about missing materials, I would assume that you're not missing anything. One of the nice things about Williams is that the Admissions Office is able to spend a significant amount of time considering each applicant individually. Consequently, far fewer Admissions Office slips are made than at other schools, and others' mistakes (such as misdelivered mail) are discovered far more quickly.

AHH!!! I just heard back. I think they called my house to let me know like two days ago but I wasn't home. I just got my notification today (im in FL). Good luck to all!
