<p>Waitlisted! I plan on accepting a spot on the list for now (I'm still waiting to hear back from Amherst, Penn, Vassar, and F&M... a bit more concerned about the first two though since Haverford didn't accept me...). What does everyone else whose been waitlisted plan on doing... are you taking the spot on the list?</p>
<p>It depends where else I get in, but I think I am going to take a spot on the waitlist</p>
<p>oh, and congratulations to everyone who got in! Also, for upcoming students (or those who might not have heard yet) here's my stats (the format I took off of one of the other threads... feel free to use it if you like it):</p>
<p>Decision: Waitlisted
SAT Verbal: 710
SAT Math: 680
SAT Writing: 710
SAT Total: 2100
SAT II: US History (750), Math-I (720), English Literature (720), Biology-M (640)
ACT:
AP/IB taken/scores: US History (4), Biology (4), European History, Calculus AB, Spanish Literature, English Literature
GPA weighted: 4.28
GPA unweighted: 3.80
Rank or % estimate: school doesn't formally rank, but I'm 1/60
Essays: Haverford wasn't a topic school on my list and I'm not a huge fan of the Honor Code (it sounds a bit quirky and idealistic) so the supplemental essay was difficult for me to write and on the shorter side I'm guessing... just over a page long. My Common App essay, however, I was very pleased with as was my college counsellor.
Teacher Recs: My 2-year AP English teacher (whose also my advisor) and my 2-year AP Calculus teacher wrote my recs. Both were very positive (I'm guessing based on my report cards over the years... I didn't get to read them) and talked about how I'm a hard worker and an honest, friendly, intelligent student who loves learning.
Counselor Rec: Very positive (once again, unable to read the rec)... we get along well. As this wasn't my top choice, he wasn't as strong in communicating my interest in Haverford as he was in the Amherst and Penn recs.
Hook (if any): I come across on paper as a very well-rounded, consistent, high achieving student... pretty normal-looking I suppose at the most prestigous colleges.
State or Country: CT
School Type: Private
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Gender: Female
Legacy: nope
Recruited Athlete & Sport: not officially, but I was in contact with the coach of the field hockey team
Important ECs: Varsity field hockey (4 year letter winner & captain), school paper (Editor in Chief), Model UN, Disciplinary Board, school choir
Other Factors: did not have an interview with someone from the school which could have been detrimental</p>
<p>rejected live in Long Island.....</p>
<p>really sad & mad</p>
<p>ACCEPTED!!</p>
<p>very excited, i also got into carleton today in addition to bowdoin last week</p>
<p>now i have the unfortunate blessing of choosing...</p>
<p>quick question:
Do any haverford students know how easy it is to take classes over at bryn mawr (actually)? One of my interests is geology and (since, as a boy, i couldn't apply to bmc) I wanted to know what the possibility of maybe minoring (or even majoring in addition to something else at hc) was.</p>
<p>Thanks, I'll post stats later</p>
<p>My Son is accepting a place on the waiting list.</p>
<p>I'm not a current student, but I can answer your question. According to the tourguide I had, taking classes at Bryn Mawr is very easy and common. Swarthmore is a bit less common but also quite easy to attend classes at while Penn is more difficult and the least common, but none the less doable.</p>

<p>PS: financial aid comes 1st or 2nd week in April... or at least that was the case last year.</p>
<p>yeah, that's what i figured</p>
<p>anyone get fin aid stuff?</p>
<p>Son got his rejection letter today. Parents much more disappointed than kid. He went to a Quaker School and wrote an amazing essay on the Honor Code, so we thought he had a good shot. Oh well!</p>
<p>Oof, I'm getting really nervous. Haverford is my first choice! I guess I'll find out in the coming days...</p>
<p>Congratulations to those who have gotten in and condolences to those who haven't.</p>
<p>thanks, hc alum, you read my mind!</p>
<p>Blue Tissues im in the Seattle area as well! I had no idea that Haverford would be responding already! Its either today or tommorow, and I'm really nervous now...</p>
<p>Hey everyone. Good luck with Haverford. I got my decision today: Waitlisted. I won't be taking a spot on the waitlist since I already got accepted to Swarthmore. So good luck to everyone else who got waitlisted. Look on the bright side, maybe another school will like you better! :D</p>
<p>I am really not sure what this means. Today I recieved an email from a coach saying:
"Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is _______ and I am the Head ________ Coach at Haverford. Congratulations in your acceptance to Haverford. I am offering my assistance with helping you get acqauited to haverford and it's offerings. Since you have participated in _________ in High School, I would invite you to join our____ teams if you decide to matriculate. Please feel free to write or call if you would like more info or if you would like to visit campus, stay overnight, etc. I would be glad to help. Hope to hear from you soon."
does this mean that I am accepted? I have yet to recieve any acceptance letter but live in CA so the mail takes longer...or is this just a customary email that they send to everyone who applied/plays a sport?</p>
<p>I would assume that means you are accepted. I believe advocates received emails this morning as to who was aceepted and encouraged to reach out.</p>
<p>rejected via email</p>
