Am I the only US applicant who hasn't heard yet? This is one of the last two schools I'm waiting for - I'd just like to hear so I can move on.

hey andriuxs...im from Peru too...im applying as a transfer though....right now i am a freshman at small college in PA. By the fact that you didnt take IB's or AP's and you actually have a GPA i'll guess you are from roosevelt....are you? I graduated from Markham in december 2005 and made the stupid mistake of only applying to ivies as a freshman....got rejected as my IB wasn't that high...i had to apply last minute to a college with rolling admissions...it is nice though. I still have to wait until May 1 to hear from reed...i will love to go there..it matches so well with my personality....good luck if you stay in the waitlist

anyone else applying as a transfer?

don't feel alone...my daughter hasn't heard either. just trying to psyche it out now and wait for Monday...I hope deferrals aren't sent out last :(

I'm a US applicant and I haven't heard either. ):

For some genius reason, they only sent out e-mails to people who were accepted. So there's no way to know if they just mistyped your address or if you didn't get in. :

rejected....yeah would have been a lot nicer to have recieved an email than in the mail.... :( ...oh well sigh i can move on now lol

I have horrible stats, so future applicants, HAVE HOPE. Seriously. Everything was working against me (my interview went terribly :\, my ECs are horrible, I wrote what I thought was a very weak personal statement in that I didn't really convey fit very well) and my below average-average stats did not help one bit. I considered Reed a reach for me. I'm an articulate writer, though, and my common app essay was stellar as was my submitted writing sample. I'm pretty sure that was what helped me the most in the end.

SAT: 2020
SAT IIs: 670 USH, 690 Lit
ACT: 30 (superscored)
GPA: 3.5-3.6 UW, 3.9 W
Rank: Top 15% (not sure of #s... last I checked, I was 133/898)

And my extracurriculars, as I've said before, are quite abysmal. I'm very committed to Yearbook and I'm pretty intense about that and I've done Choir since I could speak. Other than that. Nothing. Sad XD

My stats are:

SAT : 2170 ( CR-740, M-710, W- 720)
SAT II : P 760, Chem 740
GPA : School doesn't calculate
Rank : 11/91 (In a very competitive and selective school)
International student needing financial assistance.!!.

My extracurriculars were my many community service activitites, leadership positions, quizzes, etc. My strength, I guess, would have been my WHY REED? essay.

OK carolyn

My admitted son's stats, etc.:

Oh I'm international by the way.

My adcom said Reed would not be sending e-mails. Does this mean she meant they wouldn't send e-mail rejections????? I haven't heard from them at all and I am terrified....

Plus, I never visited campus or had an interview...I really wanted to go do an on-campus interview, and then I wasn't allowed. How much will this count against me? Reed is my top choice.

The interview could only help, but it really depends on everything else you brought to the table. We can't tell you what your adcom meant by her comment...ask her point blank.

"Admission decisions will be mailed this week. Decisions are not available via email or the web."

That is all she said...will she answer e-mail on a Sunday, you think?

Doubt it...but form what you said, rejections don't seem to be emailed either. I saw form another post you're still waiting on Whitman also. What would make you choose Reed over Whitman? I considered both along with Colorado College and I would choose Whitman over Reed. I chose CC over both of them but I am curios what yuou liek about Reed so much.

I just love the intellectual atmosphere and the quirkiness and basically everything...it seemed to be a fit, and now I'm crushed...

Before you say yes, try and visit. Don't be crushed yet, you haven't heard anything.

I'm trying...thanks. Why did you choose Whitman over Reed, and CC over both of them?

how do you know this?

Don't get me wrong, I liked Reed...but the total absence of sports kind of bothered me. Not that I am a great athlete, but I like the school spirit around teams and the other club and intramural opportunities that are a result of an atheltic department.
Loved Whitman...went out to see it for a weekend last October. My only concern was Walla Walla. It was a little too small and remote for me. I saw myself getting bored in the area after the first year or so.
Colorado had everything I was looking for...well ranked, near mountains, excellent outdoor rec program (club) and I fell in love with the block plan. I tried it out last summer for a class and it suited me...plus the block breaks that happen every 3 1/2 weeks, with no studying are awesome. From the minute i landed on that campus, I knew it was for me. So I applied ED (only school I applied to), and got in.
