I'm in southern Cali and I got waitlisted. I was originally deferred from ID. I'm actually happy because I was so afraid of getting rejected since I didn't send a letter (too afraid to....) and I didn't too as well as I could have first semester. Can I send in third quarter grades though? Anyone know?

I'm sure it can't hurt. they wanna know that you're still interested in rice

essays- terrible. the common app one was good. but the rice suppliment was god aweful. i threw it together in an hour. it was not creative, not original, and not interesting....probably what killed me. i probably shouldnt have rushed it, but i god tired of college apps....
interestingly, the only reach school that have gotten into is the one most selective school i applied to, according to PR, which happened to be my #1 choice. i guess my interest showed as well as my lack of interest in rice even though it was my second choice.... oh well, it only makes it easier for me to decide where to go. i probably wont send in the waitlist card, but i know they accept a lot off the waitlist, but how many do they usually waitlist, anyone know? otherwise i guess no owl for me, just 100% pure sagehen!
