Decisions??

Does anyone know when decisions are released? Also do they post them online on the link for your application status or do they only let you know by mail?

I couldn't find this information anywhere on the website.

My d received a "likely" phone call last night from her specific department; the woman told her that decisions will be sent "very soon"....Not sure what that means....but i have a feeling that it's not April 1st......

Website says middle of March

Ours also got a call from interested party figuratively suggesting "the check's in the mail."

Show me the $$! :)

Rodney - can you explain what you mean by a "likely" phone call?

Not sure but I spose that it's "likely" she'll be admitted. No doubt the locals probably are instructed to inkle but don't tell.

i got a likely phone call and they told me to expect good news in a few weeks.

wow, so does that therefore suggest that if you didn't receive a call, bad news is on the way?

My son never got a likely phone call. He received his acceptance in early April with an excellent scholarship. So all is not lost! Good luck to you!

mlio8: a person from the department of her major called to ask if she had any questions and to let her know she was one of the top applicants into that department....she then told her that she would receive good news in the mail shortly...

No, it's definitely not a bad sign if you didn't receive a phone call...obviously they only called a few people at the top of the applicant list.....

No, no -- a lack of a phone call doesn't mean anything. There is no way they are calling every single acceptee! If last year is any guide, UDel doesn't do much via e-mail or online. My son didn't hear anything until the acceptance packet arrived. Which he declined, and so now (of course!) he's twiddling his thumbs waiting until May to see if his transfer application has been accepted.

Iderochi, could I ask, why didn't your son accept last year, and where is he transferring out of. My son is waiting for Udel and I'm curious why your son didn't attend.

Ditto ...

My S got a call on Sunday...told him that he was accepted and with Honors. Kind of moot since he already accepted ED at Emory but nice to hear anyway.

WP, sent you and ddot a PM, but basic answer is that what he thought he wanted last Spring eventually changed, but it was too late. He's enjoyed where he is and made some good friends, but for a number of reasons he wants to return to Delaware. I wouldn't necessarily call it homesickness, more that he has some ongoing activities/interests in Delaware that he really wants to continue.

Good luck to your son. I hope he gets the answer he is hoping for!

Thanks to those who answered my question - that's relieving to know. At this point I'm just praying that the decisions do actually go out on the promised date because like many of you, I've been waiting to hear for what seems like forever. Best wishes to all of you!

Can anyone tell me whether U Del sends merit scholarship info along with the acceptance packet, or does that come later?

I'm 99% sure it comes with acceptance

Some of the kids from our town got one of those phone calls this week, and I couldn't believe that UD is doing that. Is it really fair that some students in specific majors are called, and others are not? I thought that UD had a strict policy of notifying everyone through the mail at the same time. Obviously that is not the case. My son has been waiting patiently, along with everyone else, since November. As he felt this was his top choice, it's been a long 4 mths!!! Maybe he'll call and see if he can get someone to tell him by phone too. Is anyone else as irritated by this as me?
